A friend of mine entered a Ukrainian Orthodox monastery in California as a novice several years ago, but only lasted about nine months. Anyway, he said that the monks were not allowed to cut their hair or their beards. Also, I notice that the priest at the Greek Orthodox church in my city wears a pony tail.
