I took these pictures as soon as I woke up, it was like 80 degrees and humid when I got up too. In the winter my hair layed a lot flatter and was straighter, now the sides are poofing out and stuff but its not as bad as the first time I grew it (when i shampooed every single day and blow dried every day: now i shampoo on average 2-3x a week, air dry).
In the winter I would just rub through some leave in conditioner, slick it back, throw on a hat: 5 hours later hat would come off and my hair would be straight. Not working so well now that its getting humid and hot, Ive been doing the same thing but with gel this time, the gel seems to really help.
I have nothing against my hair being curly, but untill its long enough not to have the bangs just curling up over my eyes sticking to my head I'm gonna be slicking it back while it dries to get it straighter.
Sweeeeet... maybe it's just the extra poofiness, but it looks like you've definitely gained some length over the past month. Keep it up! =)

Looking great there mate! I always enjoy your updates, that little video is cool. :)
Looks good. My hair also does that in summer. Hope it stops as it gets longer.
Thanks for the update, looks good. Looks like the summer of '07 will be a poofy one. :-)
Hi Helgast,
Your hair is doing very well indeed, you have come a long ways in only 9 months from a totally shaved head. I am looking forward to what the future will bring!
Keep it growing,
David
Hey, Helgast, what is UP, man?
Quenyan here. What with your posing before a Gandalf poster, you'll recognise wherefrom I take my user handle! You, my young fellow hair farmer, are making GREAT progress. I, too, had shaved my pate. That was twenty years ago, the Spring of 1987!
And, hey, because of the LoTR connexion, ya might be entertained by the link connected to my "avatar" on this board. Just click on it and, presto, change-o, you'll be immediately directed to the Hidden Realm, a website for those of us who can claim lineage from the Elven Race. Click on and enjoy!

Awesome site, I was just checking it out. I had been reading the silmarillion a while back, I got pretty far into it but then started a new semester at college... played world of warcraf too much and yea never finished it. Also got the email, thanks for sharing!
That is some impressive growth for 9 months way to go! As for the wavy bit it looks good.
Kevin
Coming along great Helgast, you'll be a longhair before you know it!
Keep on growin'
Bruce
Thats very good growth indeed. It will be very interesting to see you with long hair. Good work Helgast!!
Great hair! You've really come a long way since July. It looks like summer is going to be fun for both of us, with the wavy, prone-to-fluff-like-crazy-in-the-humidity hair type.

Just posting this again for those who weren't here when I grew my hair out the first time 2-3 years ago.
For those who dont know why I cut it... I took really bad care of it, there were split ends, knots everywhere. And I just got it cut off spur of the moment one day, didn't bother me at all, I kept it short for 10 months and started to really miss it being long. It was the day I shaved my skin bald that I realized I wanted it long again, kinda weird but yea.
Thats me with 23 months and one forced trim from parents, I was 15 at the time of the forced trim.
Now that I'm growing it back this time I dont plan on ever having it short again. If I start to go bald I dont know, I think Id probably still keep it long... skullet alla devin townsend... but who knows.
What amazing progress you've made! Your hair looks wonderful. As for the so-called "poofy" sides, I think it's a case of being your own worst critic. Another few months and that will cease to be a concern anyway. I'm looking forward very much to future updates.
Outstanding progress for only 9 months, Helgast! That is without a doubt some very thick and healthy hair. I think this time your hair will look even better than the last because of your new routine. I nearly spilled my glass of water when i read that you use to shampoo it DAILY!...MAN! Well, Helgast, Thanks or sharing this awesome update man. Take care.
Haha yea man... it was pretty ridiculous. I had had short hair my hole life so I just treated long hair the same way for a long time untill I started getting feedback from girls and they were all telling me they wash, not just shampoo, but only actually put water in their hair 2-3 times a week. I was like.... what....? =[
Awesome, making some really good progress!!!
Your hair looked awesome long, its gonna look even better this time around!!
