Which one do you think is best, electric guitar or bass guitar?
I wanna start playing but dunno which one!
Coming from the guy who said that he finds it annoying when he sees longhairs that play guitar;)
haha seriously though, both are good in their own ways.
Being a player myself (both guitar and bass), I prefer the guitar.
The electric guitar lets you... show off (for lack of a better word) more when you're in a band, cause you get solos and such, and it is heard easier in a faster metal/rock band.
Not to say that there's no such thing as bass solos. The bass is more for groove, and it's a key part of a band in that it provides the foundation for the drums and guitar to connect.
Both are really cool, go to your local music store, check both instruments out, listen to people play them and see which one you like best.
Good luck

I like the bass because of blink 182 and the bassist sings. Usually a bassist just stand in the background but he actually is a lead singer, which is cool. When they were together.
I got told it's best to start out on guitar, then move to bass, because it will make it alot easier to learn.
So i think i will do that :D
I am left handed, think i want a left handed strat, they are nice :)
Actually, the other way would be better.
A bass has thicker strings, which would make your fingers stronger. Also, if you do decide to play the bass in the long run, use your fingers. It takes more skill and looks better than playing the bass with ap ick.
Best of luck!

Well, guitar is more fun because you can do a lot more things with it.
You can keep a crowd entertained with just a guitar, but you can't keep a crowd entertained with just a bass unless it's a crowd of bassists or something.
Well, I´ve been playing guitar now for 5 years. Personally, I think the guitar is much more fun to play.
Though, you can do some kickass stuff on bass too.
Check out this video of Paul Gilbert and Symphony X. Paul Gilbert on guitar is of course awesome, but the guy playing the bass has some serious asswhooping thing going on there too.
guitar dude, guitar....
bass is just less powerful, you can't hit a chord a feel your nuts shaking, its just ''pawoummmm''
The guitar is a bit harder to learn than a bass. I play both and like the guitar much better, but then a base is cool, just limited in coolness when playing in front of an audience. Bass is easier to learn and when you f-ck up it is less noticeable than a 6 string... :)
Here are a couple of good places to pick up instruments at great prices.. Ibanez is my favorite guitar, look at the Ibanez GRX20ZJB for a good quality axe. I have purchased from both of these places without any troubles...

It depends on what you like to do, bass is mostly for rythem and rarely used for solo, although they do exist. Guitars are mostly solo or band insturaments. However from what I heard good bassists are in demand and guitarists are a dime a dozen... so..
Do you have any friends that already play instruments? Are you planning to play with them? I would base the decision more on that then anything else (assuming you don't have a personal preference already.) The most rewarding part of being a musician is playing with other people.
The guitar can easily be a solo instrument or accompaniment. Bass is much more an accompaniment instrument. With a bass you can play SOLOS in songs but you arent going to be heading off to an open mic night with just your voice and a bass. It can be done of course, but if you plan on doing a lot of stuff alone, you want the versatility of a guitar.
That is one reason why I am better at building guitars than playing them, I dont have friends to practice with... it sucks the fun out of playing guitar when you have to solo...
