About a week ago I went to a salon (not to get hair cut or anything but to buy a product), well anyway, I have straight hair about 2-3 inches past my shoulder, it used to be wavy, but as gravity started to take control it began to become straight, I saw a lot of longhairs with wavy hair that really looks good, so I bought this one product called curls rock or something because I wanted my hair to be wavy again, anyway it was like 20$ for a decent sized bottle of conditioner, I went home shampooed and conditioned my hair, it felt really smooth and soft when wet, when it dried it had great volume, and my hair actually was wavy again, but was really dry and frizzy, I only shampooed my scalp, and conditioned all of my hair. So the next day, I tried not shamooing my hair at all, and just conditioning it (I have really oily hair and have to shampoo everyday or every other day) and my hair seemed dryer and frizzier than it normally would be if I hadn't conditioned it at all. I thought conditioners were supposed put moisture in your hair,
I was wondering why this kind drys it out, anybody know? (if I put a little olive oil on the ends it looks fantastic, but I was just wondering why it does this)
Should I keep using it? It makes my hair look great if I add olive oil, it really does what its supposed to, the only product I have found that actually makes your hair wavy. Would using it be damaging?
thanks in advance
Hello D.M.
My wife (and sometimes I) use "Curls Rock" also. In all honesty,
goin' t' sleep w/ partly wet hair (after a decent towel drying,
NO HAIRDRYER!) usually lends itself to wavy, almost curly
hair upon rising in the a.m. My conditioner? Why, it's "Mane 'n
Tail", first intended for grooming horses, it was later re-marketted for bipeds as well.
Dude, it's the chemicals in the goop itself. You'll be stuck
in the cycle-syndrome of (sort of) damaging yr hair and then havin' t' re-condition after every shampooing. Yr oil treatment's a good idea. I like olive oil, too. Cocoanut ain't too shoddy,
either. Ya might wanna experiment.
Let us all know what happens.
