I have lurked around this board for a long time and yesterday decided to cut my hair off once again. My hair was the longest it had ever been and after I cut it I was once again upset with myself. My problem is that I own a small business where I live and I noticed that I was closing more sales and doing more business when my hair was shorter. I personally do not judge a guy on hair length and in no way does long hair on a guy mean that they are unprofessional, but unfortunately a lot of people do. I believe that once my hair got to a length where it would lay down naturally and not look so bushy and bulky I would really enjoy, but have yet to stick it out.

Hi Matt:
Yes, you have to just stick out the tough times until the hair gets long enough so that it's own weight keeps it much more contained. At this time as well you can tie the hair back if you choose. I'm in the business (IT) world as well. It was wonderful when I finally reached the stage where I could tie all my hair back and still look professional in my day to day dealings. Now folks I deal with each day, really don't give my hair a second look. I try to keep my hair at the shoulders to about 1/3 down the back length, which I like best on me. Good luck.

Hi Matt
As much as we hate to hear things like this at the end of the day you do have to earn a living. If you see a sales pattern tied to having short hair then that's life and you have to deal with it as best you can. Maybe in the future you'll become so super successful that you'll have the fexability to be able to let your hair grow and not care about the few who have issues with it.
I wish you that success at what you do and hope you can get here someday.
