OK, I don't like to wash my hair too often, because when I do so, it tends to dry out. Now, I'm a college student, so I tend to only have time for showers every other day anyway, which seems like a decent enough schedule for washing my hair... however, I very much don't intend to continue this shower schedule once the semester ends.
My problem is, letting my hair get wet without putting anything in it tends to give me worse problems than putting stuff in it too often... anybody got any secrets for keeping hair dry in the shower? Am I gonna have to break down and buy a shower cap, and feel like a 1950's sitcom mom every other time I shower?
When I started skipping shampoo days, I tried just wetting it, but I had the same problem. On the days I don't shampoo but do take a shower, I use conditioner only. I was surprised that it turns out pretty nice. I do sometimes skip showering, but only if I didn't exert too much the day before. I live in Tucson AZ, so sweat is a way of life. I also find that skipping shampoos restores the natural oils and it turns out even nicer when I do shampoo. I can't skip more than twice between shampoos or my hair gets really greasy. When it was short, I HAD to wash EVERY day. Long hair has actually simplified my life!
