Hi there,
I had the pleasure earlier this evening of meeting up with a fellow board member Rick G from California, as he's over visiting London for a few days on holiday. Still it was great to meet up and enjoy good food and conversation and a pint or two!
Yupp we found a nice pub in Notting Hill/Bayswater but no Julia Roberts or Hugh Grant!
Certainly great to meet you in person my friend.

Both of you are looking great there, guys! I'm so happy the two of you had a chance to meet and greet and have a few pints together.
In fact, I hope to meet MANY of my fellow hyperboard members (including Rick) in the spring of 2009 after I retire. I plan to drive across the entire US, taking in sights and sounds along the way, and meeting as many of my fellow longhaired guys (and gals) from the MLHH as possible during the journey. Perhaps I will get across the ocean to the UK,(from where my mom hailed from) at some future date, I have a lot of retirement years ahead of me. (I have never been overseas myself)

Hey Axel! It'd be great to have a "UK Get-together" maybe in London or someplace centrally located. Every now and then, Jerry find these real cheap airfares to London... like $300 or $400 round trip from San Francisco. They're usually in the winter when a lot of people don't what to go there. As I see it, as long as it doesn't snow, that's fine with me. I can handle just about any kind of weather.
Anyway... take care and hope to meet up with you sometime in the near future!

Thanks for the invite for me to join you guys for dinner, --- and believe me, I would have, had it not been for me being across the Bay when you called (too bad damn work always has to get in the way of fun - lol)!!

We would have invited you but we knew you wouldn't have wanted to come; our plans included eating in two restaurants and we know you don't eat in restaurants. Steve definitely wants to meet you, of course! Ken was working, so it was just Steve and me (and Larry who took the pics).
Steve lives out here now so there was no urgency in including everybody, like we have when someone comes briefly from out of town. You guys will definitely meet since you both want that! This was real spur-of-the-moment, so we just considered calling people who were close by and for whom we had phone numbers, and that is why we didn't make it a big crowd.
Oh, just because you weren't there, didn't mean we didn't talk about you! [evil grin]

It was great meeting up with you, John. Jerry and I had a neat time at the pub! We're heading back home this coming Sunday and I'm not really looking forward to the "jet lag" when it kicks in Monday morning!
