Hey guys
Cool website you got going here. Anyways i'm 18 and from Australia (any aussies here?) and I was just after a few hair care tips.
Been growing my hair out for about a yearish (I haven't been keeping track, but Ive always kept my hair about 3inches long). Going through the awkard stage, my fringe can just fit in my mouth and my sides are a bit past my chin.
Anyways I'm having a problem with oilyness, I usualy shampoo and condition one day. On this day my hair usualy feels a bit dry a few hours after washing it, but the next morning is when it's in the best condition, nice and shiny and soft and mostly oil free. Though by the end of the day my hair is really oily again, I try to only condition on that day then go back to shampooing the day after (so I shampoo every 2 days) usualy on that day after conditioning only, it's quite oily and to me feels disgusting.
I heard it wasn't good to wash everyday, but I kinda feel the need to :(.
Do you think maybe I should look into swapping my shampoo and conditioner that probably isn't very harsh that I can use everyday? I usualy use whatever my mum buys. Right now it's Dove scalp care anti-dandruff shampoo (I don't have dandruff though) amd Wella Balsam protection & shine (with natural fruit extracts and essences) conitioner for dry/damaged hair (which again I don't have)Any tips?
I should mention also that my hair is got a bit of a wave to it near the ends but the rest is kinda straight. Never die'd it I did straighten it a few times with a iron about 4months ago but have stopped since.
Also I don't deep condition and use oils, should I look into this? (the length i'm aiming for is about 1/4 back or so)Also does any one hair use hair grown vitamins? Been thinking of trying these to speed up the process of going through awkard stage.
Damn long post... if I could get a few answers to my many questions i'd greatly appreciate it!
Cheers
hmm..perhaps you should shampoo everyday.what works for other people here won't necessarily work for your hair.I used to do CO's just like you.My hhair would just look greasy and disgusting afterward,so I only do a S&C wash every 2-3 days.my hair is in a much better condition now.try that and see what happens.oh..one more thing..shampoo ONLY the scalp.not the whole length.that way, you'll avoid dry ends.
all the best,

Thanks for the reply. That's one thing I forgot to ask also bout washing hair properly. I shampoo my scalp and bout half my hair, and condition the other half. Is that a good way to wash hair? or is conditioning all your hair including the scalp better? Also is anti dandruff shampoo stronger than regular shampoo? should I look into getting something less harsh for everyday use?
Cheers
