13 months around 8 inches , and counting... and it seems forever before i achieve my style of a half ponytail i dunno about how many months r how long it typically takes to do this.. but i have very thick , and curly hair so it hides its true lenght so im guessing 13 months 8 iches ? is it possibly i gotta wait aother 13 MONTHS!! :( ill post a pic in a few hours gotta take care of some business first
13 Months with 8" growth is very fast for curly hair, average growth for straight hair is 6 inches a year.
Average growth for ANY hair type is 6 inches per year. Obviously, 6 inches won't look as long on a curly haired person, but it would be 6 inches nonetheless. Also, I think Rob is just saying that his hair is 8 inches long. Depending on how much he started with, that could be above, below, or right at average.
well its only 8 when i stretch it out , it really knows how to hide its lenght. heres a few pics sorry for the bad quality!
me strechting it to show lenght 1st pic
2nd pic just a front camera view in front of the mirror
final pic just a side view in front of the webcam ..
all i can say its been a tuff 13 months lol ty just this board alone is what a person needs to get inspired to grow there hair , cant wait to achieve my goal.
Hey, your curls are really well-behaved! The length is certainly coming along. Keep it up!

I doubt you'll have to wait another 13 months. Although a pic would help for a more accurate estimate, I think that a few more inches of hair should make a small halftail possible. So, if your hair grows at the average rate (half inch per month), you would only be looking at 4 more months to wait. Of course, this could be off, because I don't know what your growth rate is or the extent of your hair's curliness. In any case, a halftail shouldn't be too far away for you. Cheers
Oh, I see that you've just posted pics :-) That really helps. Yeah, I still say 4 or 5 months should make a small halftail possible. Good luck =)
But you gotta learn to apreciate the process as well...
You know, my goal is for my hair to cover my butt... I've got midback lenght and still I can't wait... seems to take forever as well. I've been growing my hair for 31 months, more than two and a half years, and will have to wait a lot more time untill I finally achieve my goal...
With long hair, things work like that. That's why it's so glorious, special, and valuable.
But it is important that you enjoy your process... I sometimes think my hair is LONG... man, how did it grew that fast? Sometimes I look at it and think... oh my, I need it to grow faster, it feels so short!
But in the end I think... I hope I'll never have this lenght again, because I don't plan on cutting my hair, and wish I'll never loose it because of genes or something. So I gotta learn how to love each lenght, try each style possible, and give my hair the time it needs to get there...
You will get there to your goal... just wait and you'll see =)
It's looking good by now... I wish you the best luck on the rest of your journey... Keep posting!
Aha, I know what you mean about how long it takes. Well not exactly to be honest, I've only been growing to for five months (4 inches of growth I'd estimate) meaning I grow faster than most people...but nevertheless I'm very impatient for it to just grow faster. Considering you've been growing it for a year, and you have curly hair so progress takes alot long to be noticable, I would go insane. :P I admire your patience.
Hey, your hair looks like how my hair looked when in the first part of growing it out. Just have some more patience, once you've accumulated enough curls, they'll start to reach for the floor. I too have had a long period of a big head full of curls that simply wouldn't go down.
Patience my man! The result is worth it!
