My hair's the "I can just put it in my mouth" length.. I shampoo/condition, and then I have to lightly towel squeeze my hair, or it will frizz badly. If I try running my fingers or any other sort of grooming device through my hair, I get frizzies. Bad ones.
The only way I can stand my hair is if I lightly towel squeeze it. Then it curls. (lasts 6 hours, then frizzes up) The curls are fine by me.. but if I run my fingers through my hair, or attempt a part, it gets really frizzy.
Needless to say, I don't like frizzy hair. I wanna continue growing it long, but not if it keeps frizzing like this.
Is frizzed hair damaged? I used to try to get my hair straight a few months ago, before I decided I liked my naturally curly hair. (btw, my hair poofed AND frizzed when I tried it straight) I've heard a couple warnings near this board saying don't stretch hair out.
Is it safe to think frizzed hair is damaged hair? did I stretch it unknowingly? Is there any hope for my hair looking nicer? Should I just cut it back and forget the dream of long hair?
(Insert optional scream of "help" here)

Try some hair straightening balm. It can make a huge difference for hair like that. Maybe you're hair is damaged, but it could just be naturally frizzy.

I think some people have said that beeswax works well. It is available in most drug stores.
