..to all that celebrate it!
Hyvää vappua!
Glada (och klara) Vappen!
To the rest of you, here's some info:

Happy Vappu for all our friends in Finland and Happy Queen's day for all our friends in The Netherlands.

Yes, MikeS, and everyone so inclined,
HAPPY, HAPPY WALPURGISNACHT!
And a Happy Beltaine tomorrow, too!
Say, since tonight's the full moon, and
there was a full moon already at the begii
of the month, too, that makes this a Blue Moon month,
when two distinct full moon cycles occur during
the same month.
Then again, there are thirteen moons in the lunar calendar
per year . . . I'm a Moonchild my(s)elf.
Didja know that "monstrous births" were referred to as
Partus Lunaris, or Those Born of the Moon in the
days of yore? Makes one wonder, duzzint it?

The full moon is actually tomorrow night, a bit
after midnight even, so that puts it into May.
Of course this is on topic, since full moons are
important to creatures who grow lots of hair! [g]

Farmers' Almanac - Full Moons
Monsieur Choisser,
Looks pretty full to me (shrugs) but, hey, man,
you're right on about the hair-growing (or fur!):
Even a man who is pure of heart
And says his prayers by night
May become a wolf
When the wolfbane blooms
And the moon is full and bright!
I think that that's how it goes (grin)

Yeah, I could dig howlin' at the moon tonight.
It gets a man to quit looking at picky details,
which is a great attribute when keeping our web
site running, but is not of much use in
moon howlin'.
Bill
Happy Beltain to you as well, and enjoy the Blue Moon!

Be careful all and watch out. Because of the partying....and the heightened presence of powers unseen.
Oh, and happy Beltane tomorrow to those who celebrate it.
To longhaired brother Antesse,
Warning well heeded!

P.S. And Blessed Bees!
Appreciate the Blessed Bees and such but I do not celebrate Beltane or Walpurgisnacht myself other than taking the latter as a time to be careful and prayerful and protected. You see, I am myself a bit of a mystic and a charismatic and sense things out there in the wide world. But my religion is Roman Catholicism and so Beltane is not one of my holidays. But I have a few Pagan friends and usually the Pagans are widely persecuted so I always like to keep an eye out for my Pagan brethren.
Thanks, Antesse, you're great,
I appreciate yr response. My late dad, the Robert W. Offerman, world renowned alien abductee, was himself a Catholic. It didn't keep him (and his then fiancee, my future mother) from having been abducted by extra-terrestrials, sometime in the late 1940's, well before the much-celebrated abduction of Betty and Barney Hill. Oh, no. There I go again, veering heavily off of the hair subject. Apologies. But, hey, thank you for your concern as to what can occur to those of us who might be predisposed to wander away from the Gospel. I'm an admitted atavistic throw-back. Hey, I'm not even an evolutionist. G-d thought (and thinks) everything into manifestation. That means you and me and everyone and that I can render my own way of relating TO creation. Whoa. Fire celebrations. Really scary. By the way, your hair's coming along nicely. Thanks for yr input, Antesse.
