Okay, I need some advice....
I've been growing my hair out from being totally shaved, so it's taking quite some time to get any serious length. Right now I'm beginning to reach the base of my neck in back, about an inch below my ears on the sides, and the tip of my nose in front. It looks shorter though, because it's quite curly.
But, as my hair grows out, my bald spot is becoming much more obvious.
I'm beginning to think I should just cut it short and be done with it. I already take minoxidil (orally) for my blood pressure, and it's not particularly helping with hair growth. So, I've not tried using it topically as Rogaine, thinking there's no point.
So, here's the question; What do you think of growing out hair with an obvious bald spot? Is it worth trying to keep growing it? Or, should I surrender to the inevitable and just cut it short?
I just keep growing it.
Yeah, I agree Alan... By the time his hair is long enough to be in a tail, the bald spot will be covered by the hair from the front, so it'll be barely noticeable.

It's ok! I've got some thinning on top- still going for long hair.
I was concerned too, but noticed a lot of guys with *much* more thinning (or totally bald area) looked fine with long hair. Most wore it in a pony, but I sorta like to leave it down. My officemate has some real thinning, has mid-back hair, and looks great.
my hair was very thin on top when i started letting it grow longer. minoxidil and propecia are helping to slow the loss. my hair is now several inches below my shoulders. i like it eventho my wife does not. i wear it in a pony tail most of the time. the hardest part was growing the sides long enough to tie back. i love my hair eventho it is a lot of trouble.
