I know alot of you are from San Franscisco, so im sure you heard of this... some truck burned so hot that it melted the bridge the truck was on and the bridge collapsed. Did anyone get injured?
Also about the Queen Mary II, I saw a picture of QM2 in TAIWAN (yes I mean it, the ship said QM2 unless its a fake) so I assumed it sailed for Taiwan after it left SF??
It was at three in the morning and no one else but the truck's driver was on the bridge. He got burned a bit, but he walked a mile and a half off the freeway and onto city streets before he encountered a taxi, which took him to the hospital. Right after the accident he had talked to a guy who worked night shift at a plant right under the bridge, but he could not get down off the freeway bridge there. The worker had his video camera and got the great footage of the bridge collapsing in flame, which you probably saw.
They now think the bridge he was on was only superficially damaged and will open soon after resurfacing. Heat from fire mainly goes up, and it was a bridge over the one he was on that had steel on its underside that got melted, causing the collapse. Besides "heat mainly going up", the bridge the truck was on had the concrete roadway to shield the underlying steel from the heat, and that kept it from collapsing like the overhead bridge did.
They said it headed west from here, and that it had come from underneath South America on a circle-the-world trip. So its being seen after that in Taiwan makes sense.
