Hello Everybody !
I thought about Henna...
Did one of you have experimented this ?
I think it's more common for the women but I'm quite interested. I would like to try Henna, one day. Not pure henna, because I don't want to have a totally-red head, and I know it's permanent.
Does henna modify the hair stucture ? or does it just coat the hair ?

Hey Viv,
Good question. Years ago, hmn, years and years and years ago, I'd experimented with hair colouring. Henna. Permanent harmful dyes, too. Be it known that permanent hair dyes are the same chemicals as photographic toners used in the printing of old-fashioned photos. Why, one can even tell by the smell.
So then. Plant-based pigments such as henna are not only eco-friendly, they're recommended, for health reasons. Also, there are not only reddish hennas, there are black, brunette, and blondish-highlighted ones, too.
Being vegetable derivatives, they're not permanent. All that they do is "paint" the outside of the individual hair shafts, not soak them through and through with photographic toners as with permanent man-made hair dyes, reeead photographic toners.
Either way, Vivien, henna is not unhealthy OR permanent. Permanent, commercially manufactured hair dyes are not good for you or the environment. Any further questions, ask away. I hope that you make the right decision . . .
Best wishes,
Quenyan (+:-)}

Thanks for the precisions, I was sure that henna was permanent, but apparently, it's not.
I think I won't try immediately but when I will be bored of my hair color, maybe...;)
You said you've tried hair coloring, what color ?
