Even if you say it looks rough after a few days of camping, your hair looks GREAT! You have a thick head of curly hair than can only get better the longer you grow it. Congratulations on a job well done and keep up the great growth.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. I've been a bit of a lurker on here for years w/only a few updates, but I've gleaned so much information from you guys - especially in the beginning year or so!
As I said, that pic was perhaps 3 or 4 days into camping after a water only, luke warm shower at the music festival I was attending. I almost always keep it pulled back, even still, because it "bushes out" so bad. I had several trims, especially during the beginning, to mainly the back to enable me to remain somewhat professional at work; of course, I regret them now, but it was something I felt I needed to do w/my work. Anyway, again I thank you all for advice and inspiration along the way!
