Does caffeine really slow hair growth? thanks in advance.
Never heard of that before. In my professional opinion: No
Yeah, well i reading some tips on growing healthy hair and it says to avoid caffeine, sodas, sugar. just found it interesting. Thanks guys.
If you eat enough to replenish the nutritients from the coffee it should not retard hair growth. I actually think if you have enough nutritients caffeine can speed up hair growth since it speeds up metabolism.
NO SUGAR?! Are people crazy? I eat lots of sugar every day but it doesn't seem to affect me and even if it did I would not sacrifice everything like Internet always says. I think it's more important that you get enough protein and water and sugar makes me hyper and so energetic I don't know how it can be bad...
Never heard of that before. I sincerely hope it doesn't because i myself consume LOTS of caffeine daily :-)
geez..tell me about it brother!!
it's gotten to a point where sometimes I take caffeine pills back to back AND energy drinks!!I have to start limiting it somehow ^_^
Wow, and here I feel like I'm having a heart-attack if I drink a can of some sort of energy drink. Completely unscientific here, but perhaps since everyone reacts differently to caffeine it will affect hair growth differently depending on the individual. You can build a tolerance to caffein of course, but we're all wired uniquely to start with.

Sadly beer has taken my addiction to soda. I'm quite the alchololic now.
I think it does, just a little bit though.it causes you to lose water, and we all know you can't grow hair without any water in your system (or build any muscle, for that matter)
I could be thinking of something else, but I do remember hearing that caffeine drains you of nutrients a bit. I would imagine this would have some kind of effect on the growth and quality of hair. But whether or not it affects it significantly.... I have no idea.
which contains a lot of caffeine. I don't think it has stunted my hair growth. See photo. I have super long hair, and I am 54 years old as well. It just about reaches my knees. I would say that you have nothing to worry about.
Just let your hair grow and don't worry about it.

Yay, another chocoholic lol! I'd say so, your hair really looks great, Absalom. The most influential factor of your hair growth is the genetic one and if your hair grows fast it will grow fast. Of course, if you don't eat it will stop at some point, well you'll die as well (makes sense). Of course, probably optimal health maximizes the growth but not so much.
Hello ,
i think that you must have a balanced diet if you want to reach your optimal grow speed. Growing hair require a lot of proteine and others things that you find everydays in your food. i think malnutrition can drive to hair loss or can slow down the growing speed.
smoking must also slow down the growing speed since it reduce the blood flow in the skin.
but yes , the genetic factor is the most important.
