Here's a better shot to show the length, since many people asked. It's not an especially good picture, I kind of look funny.
They're kind of dark but I like these better.
Sorry if I put in too many pictures.
Anyway, I was really happy to see all the amazing responses on that last picture I put up... and so many people saying they were happy that I didn't cut it. Well, the key word there is "yet"... I'm about 95% sure that it'll be cut off within the next month (whenever I can spare some money to get a decent haircut in place of it). I felt really bad after reading all the compliments, it makes me want to keep my hair! Or somehow "give it" it somebody else! LoL. The truth is, I just don't feel like I look right anymore. I don't regret growing it out, and I do have healthy hair that I'm proud of... and I want to thank ALL of you for all the great conversations on this board, it's been awesome.
I'm not going to shave it off at least, I'll still have kind of a shaggy hairstyle, I guess. And if I feel bad while it's getting cut off... I'll know that I made a mistake and it'll start growing right back! Or maybe in the future, who knows, I'll feel like growing it out again. Heck, I'll probably still stop by, just because I know what it feels like to be a longhair at some point... and because I have so much respect for you guys!!
That hair TOTALLY suits you! You look great in all of those pictures. As I was looking through them, I was thinking "man, that guy was made for long hair!"
Not sure what you look like with short or shaggy hair (I missed your last post, if it was there), but I think you should keep it long. Maybe go for a trim to tidy up any split ends. I got a blunt cut to make my hair all the same length at the back and, although it was noticeably shorter, it felt like a new hair style.
Really? I've ALWAYS felt like it suited me, until the past couple of months. =( Nothing drastic has happened, so I dunno!
It's just annoying that I keep saying I want to cut it but I keep holding out... and then the more I wait the more I want to cut it.. I dunno what'll happen.
I already did do a trim to get rid of split ends recently, first trim in over a year, it made my hair easier to comb and take care of, but not much else.
Thanks though, I really appreciate the comments, man...
Who knows, maybe I'll turn around all of a sudden and start loving my hair all over again!! I originally wanted to wait until I was done building my first guitar, so I could take a picture of my first instrument with my long hair.. but I dunno if that'll happen =/
Ultimately it's up to you... but like you said, it might feel wrong as soon as it's cut and you'll grow it back. It would be a shame to have to wait for it to get back to the length it's at now. What I did once, I went to a Halloween party and my costume included a short haired wig. So, I got to be be a short hair for the evening and it felt so wrong. Wouldn't have known that if I hadn't worn the wig. Not quite a real haircut, but close enough! ;)
It would be a shame if you cut your hair because it looks really good and it suits you but I know where you're coming from so do what you must.
Hi again, Peg,
Inspirational, fantastic, long, awesome hair, blah, blah, blah, but.. PLEASE.....DO......NOT....CUT....IT, that would be very sad, at least give it some SERIOUS thought before cutting! You have spent 4 years growing this awesome mane, please think long, hard, and seriously before making a decision you may regret later!
David
dude, you didn't put enough =), it looks great
sad to cut it. Many here are would love to have such a nice mane as yours.
Remember this. What took you 4 years to grow only takes 4 minutes to destroy.

Your hair is amazing, don't cut it! lol Seriously, it's fantastic. But then again if that's your choice, it's always more important to do what you like and want. Still, the thing with hair is that cutting it should take time thinking because it's radical and it takes time to grow again. Do what you think it's best ;)
Your hair is so great and it suits you excellently. Its healthy, shiny, looks so nice... it would be a crime to cut it off. don't do it, you'd regret it.
Awesome hair and awesome guitars! Too bad you´re going to cut it but that´s up to you. :)
How long have you been playing? What kind of music do you play?
You know we hear this a lot and the next thing we hear is "I cut my hair and it was a mistake now I want to grow it back" Don't be another statistic, another notch on some barbers post.
It kooks good work with it a little your cool, unique, and interesting with it, without it your another of billions of buzz cuts. :(

A less drastic measure might be the best solution. If you're going to cut, it might be a good idea to just cut your hair to the last length you enjoyed it at. If that isn't enjoyable to you anymore, then go a few inches shorter. If you go gradual like this, you might find out that you didn't want such a drastic haircut in the first place, and that would save you a ton of regrowth time.
Looks real nice. I like all the waves in it.

Hey
Peg Dizzler
Im incline to agree with you the pictures of you playing the guitar are alot better and Im not saying you look bad on your First picture NO I am not its just some people dont look good in self portaits just standing there for the picture to be taken by the way im another as i really hate photos being taken of me because I dont take a very good picture at least that is what i am getting at im just wondering if you feel the same way ?
Regarding you cutting it I would say it would be a terrible tradegy if you cut it short i like picture two in the thread your hair looks best tied up in a ponytail to looks good :-) on the other hand its your dicistion at the end of the day no one can decisted for you and we will be 100% behind you whatever you shoulkd dicisted !
Axel
In the past, I apparently made the mistake of thinking you were a woman (because I thought the name "Peg" was short for, "Peggy"); but obviously, I was wrong, --- not that it matters, really, beause your hair looks GREAT, regardless!!!
Anyway, regarding you cutting your hair...
None of us can stop you, of course (although we would if we could - lol); but if it helps any: I cut mine in Y2K, and deeply (and I do mean, DEEPLY) regretted it... But hey, if you want to ruin a perfectly gorgeous, silky, spectacular, nice & thick, full, luxuriously long head of hair like that... well then... ummmm... (I'm supposed to say, "then go ahead!"; but, I can't!!!).... JUST DON'T TELL US ABOUT IT!!!
- Ken (who's already sobbing now)
Dont cut the hair man it looks great.
don't cut your hair man...it's 99% certain that you will regret it,given how good your hair looks!(I wish I had that head of hair, lol!!)
if you miss the "short hair feel" just do what I do..tie your hair up or put on a baseball cap and put all the hair under it!
..BAM!you are a short hair again!!and when you take it off..BAM!!you are a longhair!!
hope you don't cut,
-Jacob
You have a fantastic mane Peg, I would like to think that you won't cut it, but at the end of the day it is your choice.
Good luck with everything.
You are truly blessed to have such nice hair, it would certainly be a shame if you were to cut it off after working so hard (I'd assume) to grow out. Please think it through before committing to something that CANNOT be undone.
-animosity
Very cool Peg Dizzler! But alas, if it is your decision to go shorter that's cool too, because it'll be what you want and not someome else. After all that's why you grew it long in the first place.
Bruce
While I concur with the folks who say the long hair suits you, you're the one wearing it and it's ultimately your choice whether to keep or cut. Whatever decision you make- just be completely certain you'll be happy with it. You don't select clothing or choose a hairstyle to please anyone but yourself.
