There's some gell in there to tame the frizz, and it tends to last a few hours.
Anyways, I chose not to go to Junior Prom. But just suppose. The purpose of this post is...that I came across a bogus rule for men going to prom. One of the rules featured is "Must be a tamed, neat, and kept hairstyle." So I asked further that if I wanted to go, would I be permitted to with my current hair length. The answer was no and that I'd have to chop at least a few inches off. How ignorant is that?
Its sad for all our supposed "Civilization" how ignorant so many people can be. Its disgusting.
Prom is lame anyway. I don't understand the appeal of it. I didn't go to my junior prom, and I probably won't go to my senior prom either.
Agreed. I never went to any sort of proms when I was in high school...and to this day I don't regret my decision.

Same here, prom is about saying goodbye but I couldn't wait to be rid of those people so hell if I was going to party with them.

never went to prom in high school, I did not have good enough social skill to get to go anyways. I think college is much better cause high school girls are very immature...
Prom has a couple different appeals. For me, it was a nice, organized goodbye. I went to a small private school, and most of my classmates lived a couple cities away. The school rented out a boat, and prom was held on the Florida inter coastal. My date was a stuffed dog that a cousin gave me because I was the Wolf in the school play. Knock it if you want, but it was a fun night.
Which is the purpose of a prom. To have fun. There should be a level of formality to it, but when it comes down to brass tacks, prom is just an excuse for a bunch of 18 year olds to get together for probably the last time of their lives. It shouldn't be ruined by a bunch of self-righteous administrators who are trying to live vicariously through their students.
Awesome shirt, man. One of my favorites obviously. And yeah that's a stupid rule.
I never went to my prom...not my junior or senior year, could'nt get a date...the school was at *least* %90 male (probabily closer to %95 seeing how the average class had 20 people and you were lucky to get ONE female in your class...i went a whole year without a single female in ANY of my classes)
I know most people are thinking "well you could have went alone and had fun" ok spend $90 to go to a prom...have nobody to dance with and what exactly would i have done there there??....seriously
I wouldn't go to the prom if I had to cut my hair! Prom is over rated anyway. I would meet up with your fiends afterwards.

I've got some suggestions for you or any of you guys facing this crap.
1. ACLU
2. Register to vote and vote against every tax levy your school district puts on the ballot.
3.Take the issue up with your school board and call, email, and fax your elected officials. It works! I'm not going in all the details of how I know. The elect officials have statistical formula that say that for every 1 person that calls their office they estimate that 7000 other people feel the same way. That is for US senators. I don't know right off hand what kind of formula local politicians use.
Best to try #3 first.
Hi Dave just wanted to add my two cents and agree with your decision not to go to the prom.To have to cut your hair for something like that lasting only a few hours is crazy. Then you would have to face months to regrow what you lost just to go to the party. So don't worry about it as you missed nothing anyway as I never went to any proms myself hair rules or not.Have a great day!Mark
"Must be a tamed, neat, and kept hairstyle" says nothing about an acceptable length, so I wouldn't have assumed that my long hair was unacceptable. I would have showed up with it in a ponytail, or bun, and I doubt that I would have been sent home.
That's good you didn't trim your hair. Prom is definitely overrated. You're in a win-win situation. You get to keep your hair, money and time. Cheers!
