I was wondering if sinjed hair grows, a while a go a friend of mine thought it would be funny to put a lighter to my hair. There are a few short white ended hairs at the front of my scalp near the parting, are these sinjed hairs? I would also like to ask about fringe hairs, there are many of these hairs that are shorter than the rest of my hair. They cant be terminal already can they?
Just like a haircut doesn't prevent further growth, the singed hair you describe will continue to grow because the growth comes from the other end, the part still connected to your scalp. As for the little hairs at the hairline they will stay short because they are transition hairs, the dividing line between the long growing ones on your scalp and the fine hairs that cover the rest of our skin. Even with the gentlest care those short hairs do not catch up with the rest of your hair.
Now about that friend of yours with the lighter. If you had your hair full of flammable products there would have been a lot more than a singed fringe. Be wary of that 'friend' with very poor judgement.
