Trying to decide how long I want to grow my hair. Would like it to go down my back but I am sure I am going to get flack from people at work. Any suggestions on nicely putting them in their place?
Marco, there's an appropriate two word response to any shaming message. F**K YOU! You can temper your tone of voice to the occasion.
When my hair was first growing out (down to my butt now) a male coworker looked at me and said I looked like "Long haired biker trash."
I looked him in the eye and calmly said, "F*CK YOU."
That got him good, he sputtered and finally said, "Why'd you say that?"
I calmly told him that was an appropriate response to a shaming message.
He never hassled my hair again..
Good luck,
Hi, my name's Chris. I just turned twenty five in March.
I like long hair. I like who go out with me and where long hair down for me. My hobbies are using the Internet and listening to music. I'm a big fan and friend of Charlie Daniels, a country singer. I also like gospel music.
please email me soon.
Ignore them. If you want to be a longhair life is to short to spend
any time caring what others think about your hair. Sometimes I give
them a steely, icy glare (at least what I hope is a steely, icy glare). That usually shuts them up. Good luck! MG
Hi Marco, I personally feel ponytail is the best way for a conservative yet professional look, at the same time, not deliberately hiding your long hair.
Marco-
I had similar concerns (I'm a pretty conservative guy), and I work as an EE, a relatively conservative profession. Had *no* problems. One or two people joked about my 'getting a haircut' or 'you're getting shaggy', but I responded kinda harshly to those.
Different people, different responses. Most gentle: variations on Alice's (in Wonderland) comment: ""Your hair wants cutting" said the Hatter.... "You should learn not to make personal remarks," Alice said with some severity: "It's very rude.""
