Well.....it has been a journey
Have had hair to mid back for last three years. Usually a ponytail.
Age 49, with goatee and stache.
Got up a Saturday morning in early June and went to a good stylist and got a semi buzz cut.
Everyone is telling me that I look 15 years younger, which is really pissing me off. Compliments are nice, but I miss the feel of the hair down my back.
Choice now: look younger? Look older but feel those great locks again???? What to do????????
A couple of thoughts. First, why did you do it? Just curious. Second, having others tell you that you look "younger" might just mean "more acceptable". Third, apart from what others say to you about their perceptions of you, what is your experience of you, with long hair, and without?
Robert
it sounds like you allready did it so whats your question
What is the Two Week Rule?
Only cut it if you do not have any second thoughts about cutting your hair for Two Weeks!
Buzzcuts, or near Buzzcuts make you look young? Not in my book. Maybe its me but Buzzcuts always make me think you don't have much hair to begin with or you are to lazy to take care of it properly.
so eh young poeple are bald, and old poeple start to get bangs of hair! hehehe, not what i learned at biology, hehe!
Brad,
Don't be so hard on yourself. You cut it because you thought it would
be nice to have a change. If you miss your hair, start growing it back! The good thing about hair is it will grow back. I don't think this board should be this hard on you for cutting it. Do what makes you happy! Don't be concern about others views! Don't be concern about looking older! A lot of times we don't look as old as we think we do.
Good Luck!
