Well, I found free wi-fi at a donut shop near my house. Well... free if you buy donuts. Anyway, here's another shadow shot at the beach. Hopefully I can get back to the donut shop or get my cable hooked up before the thread falls off, but I might not, so don't knock yourselves out with replies.
California is working out pretty well so far. I think this week will be fairly telling on the job situation--week 3. Hard to belive it.
Hope everybody is doing OK.
At the very same spot. Look up, and there's the lighthouse. It's Pidgeon Point, just off the famous highway 1.
I can probably take a picture from the other side of the pacific...
Yea, but it would probably be pretty hard to see the lighthouse since it would be so small.
Wow, that shot brings back some memories. When I was in my early/mid 20's I used to be fearless and would travel up and down Hwy 1 between San Francisco and San Luis Obispo quite often in search of uncrowded, good sized surf. I used to hit up the Pigeon Point / Año Nuevo area quite a bit because most surfers didn't want to tango with the Northern elephant seals. I wasn't bothered, though, as I had been around Sea Lions out in the water very often. Sea Lions are pretty chill. I used to illegally hike into Año Nuevo State Park at dawn by myself to surf the morning glass until I trotted by a bunch of beached E seals one morning and pissed off some of the males. I had never been that close to them before. I literally could have kicked them if I wanted. They violently roared at me and one started chasing me down the beach a relatively short distance. Good thing because they actually move quicker than humans. I literally pissed myself (in my wetsuit so no biggie) out of fear and I got the heck out of there. I was actually surprised my long hair didn't fall right out...I was absolutely fearing for my life. Never been back there to surf. This was probably 1994. It's a cool place to check out, though, and I highly recommend it this summer. Just stay away from the seals and out of the water. Great Whites love seals and will love you, too.
Anyway, glad you're out and about enjoying the scenery...hope all is going well for you there.
wow that's really cool steve--i just got back last night at 9:30. everything went well and calif. was great.
Too many donuts will increase the size of that silhouette, LOL!
Ah, my beloved ice plant! I love that stuff...please please please don't walk on it ;-). Good luck with the job, Steve!
