Does wearing hats damage or kill hair? Will it effect hair growth?
No, wearing hats does not kill hair; doesn't affect hair growth. It does create a condition called "hat head" (similar to "bed head") which is easily remedied with a shampooing. Believe me, if you wore a hat that was affecting your hair's growth, you would be in serious trouble with other maladies of the head!
Well, I'm not totally sure if hats do affect hair growth but I do know people that, because of having to wear hats constantly in their profession, have receding hair at the front, more so than people I know who do not wear hats, but I guess it depends on the person again, if you can help it, try not to wear hats TOO often, that's probably your best bet, but hey - It's up to you, it's your head!!!
Good luck!
Don't know about hats, but turbans sure don't.
Observant Sikh men are required to keep their
hair uncut (Kesh), and to keep their hair covered
with a turban (Dastar) when at the temple
(Gurdwara) and when outside of and away from one's
own home.
