Hey ho Dudes,
I've been growing out my hair for about 3 Years now and it's about mid-back length. But I've got a lot of problems with it. I have very thik hairs, and each of them wants to curl in an other direction. it's impossible to brush it :-) There is only one way... I iron them on my mothers harmening board every morning.
It's not bad for my hair, it looks shiny and great afterwards. I do not even have problems with spliss... But it takes sooo much time in the morgning. btw. I also tried these hair-irons.. but they just didnt work on my hair....
I need a solution to straighten my hair. But I don't want to spend 1 hour every morning and get brandings on my ears or in the face...
mhhhh, i think ill take some photos and post them :-)
And, if you know any solution, let me know...
thx
My own hair is not curly enough to give you a truly helpful reply; but there are guys here that have AWESOME curly hair (one notable guy in the Directory of Users comes immediately to mind, named "Bodhi"), and if they read this I'm sure they'll reply...
What I do remember some of them saying, though, is that most of them don't use a brush; but instead, mostly finger-comb, or use a wide-toothed comb (like an Afro pick). Also using tons of conditioner after shampooing helps. But, these are all guys that want to leave theiur hair the way it naturally is: curly!
Most of us on this board here DON'T recommend harsh chemicals to change one's hair in any way (whether straiteners, perms, or color changes). It can severely weaken the texture and quality of the hair, causing a lot of breakage, split ends, dryness, and other damage, --- which ultimately usually causes the guy to cut off all the damaged hair, and have to start the re-growing process all over again (we've seen and read MANY times of that happening here).
Anyway, best of luck to you, --- and whatever you do, keep it growin'!

My youngest son has curly red brown hair and he never brushes with a bristle brush. He only uses a vent brush or a comb. He uses shampoos that are moisture heavy. His hair is not long by any means but it is in control.
