How long should my hair be after a year?
My bangs were originally at eye level, now they are just below chin, and the back of my hair touches my shoulders. I've been growing it since May 06.
So, basically, I'm asking a few things...
In a year, how long (based on averages) will it be?
And does cold weather really slow down growth of hair? Because I live in Alaska, and I would just like to know, if it does indeed slow the hair growing process, how badly is the growth delayed?
Hair grows at about ½ inch/mo. In a year, it should be about six inches longer (assuming no trims).
I highly doubt this. It makes no sense for hair growth to be slower in colder places than warmer ones.
Ah. I knew that, but thanks.
Eh. I've read somewhere that the vitamins that the sun gives off help the hair grow. But if a little lack of sun doesn't affect my hair, then thanks. So many myths about hair growing. Pretty baffling.
mhh i think that if you keep you hair in ice during some months it will slow down the grow rate ahaha

The newly grown length could be 15 cm, if you're lucky ;)
Hair grows fastest on autumn, its rather a biorhythm and effect of (healthy) lifestyle.
Dear Mr. Silver Gungnir,
Hey, man, don't be so self-deprecating! The only moronic question is the one that you never ask! I doubt thermal temperatures, or the lack of them, have any influence on our hair growth.
Average human (head) hair growth is approximately half an inch per month. Absalom recommended to me to sheer a section that only I'd notice, to monitor its fastness or slowness, when I positted the same query last year. I chose the "point" at the temple, just where the hairline kind of tips forward toward the forehead.
All right, that was September '06. Half grows half an inch per month. That same lock of hair is now four inches at eight months later. There ya have it.
Hey, you chose a Norse user name. Are ya into the Norse religion of Asatru? Are ya knowledgable in the Elder Futhark? Know of the Denali Institute of Northern Traditions directed by Ragnar Holm? They're in Alaska, too.
Yours in hair and beard-growing camaraderie,
Quenyan (+:-)}
