Does anyone actually know if marijuana usage, which increases metabolism, increases hair growth speed? I hypothesize that it might, because biotin works the same way, it increases metabolism. Please, no one respond with anti-drug bullshit, and if you don't actually know, please don't respond. Thank you.
I'm against anti-drug blsht as much as you do. You can find some info in the Los Angeles Cannabis Buyer's Club.
I smoke and my hair grows faster than most, I average 3/4" a month or more.
Do you know how fast it used to grow before you started smoking? I wasn't keeping track back then but my hair seems to grow faster now, so I wondered if there was a connection.
I would think my hair growth would decrease, considering my mom used to cook dinner all the time back in the day, and I had a larger appetite, too. Now I don't eat breakfast, I eat a very small fast food lunch (a cheeseburger or a taco, literally only one) and I eat a small Arby's sandwich for dinner where I work, and often only french fries. My mom completely quit cooking.
Theres one more variable that screws up the whole thing- I drink a shitload of water now, just for the hell of it, like 8 glasses a day or more. So its either that or the weed thats speeding things up, and it looks like the food doesn't much matter, as long as one isn't undernourished (but I sort of am...damn it)
Has anyone recently started, or stopped for that matter, drinking water, smoking weed or eating healthy? Has it affected the hair growth?
My hair grows too fast. Seriously. I've grown 8 inches of hair just the last year. I smoke pretty regularly. Maybe 3-5 times a week. I also smoke cigerettes. I think anything that gets your metabolism moving, is gonna help speed up the process. Drinking water is also a good thing. Stay healthy, keep up the metabolism, and your body ( and hair ) will thank you.
I have done a few studies over a 6 month period.I have found there is an increase as long as the thc levels remain constant,as the blood vessels dialate(expand) to let more blood flow the hair follicles produce more, this can be enhanced by periodic massaging of the scalp,
so if u smoke enough and eat enough protene you can have an increase of about 3 inches a month, but the thc must remain a constant to show any improvement,if u look in the september issue of high times magazine you will see my article on this in more detail
Well, since the THC in marijuana attaches to fat cells one would think that the hair folicles would get high and not care about growing anything. THC causes amotivational syndrome rather than activity...Cheech and Chong, Spicoli....
And the more a person smokes the more THC attaches to fat cells so it seems like the more marijuana a person smoked the more stoned their hair folicles would be and the less their hair folicles would care about growing hair...
Sounds like a great topic for a thesis or a science fair experiment.
Gee, thanks for the info. Just exactly what I didn't want to hear.
Hey, just a hypothesis based on that scientific shit.
For sure the truth for booze though. Alcohol works at a cellular level and gets every cell "drunk" so boozers probably grow hair slower since the folicles are plastered for sure. Plus the alcohol dries out skin so more hair probably falls out.
Damn, we need someone to do some scientific stuff on this...
I don't think my hair follicles get drunk and high. Also, my hair follicles don't get unmotivated, happy, sad, or have any other emotions or opinions on anything. If they did, maybe we could all buy our hair motivational tapes and have it listen while we sleep and really get it growing. We should bring our hair to church, too, and get it inspired. I'll bet God fearing, church attending, religious hair grows faster.

no... actually religious male hair would probably 'know' that being long is a disgrace and keep itself obediently short.
having been an on and off user i can honestly say i've observed little if any difference in growth rate. of course the effects would vary from person to person.
I don't know how much marijauna affected my own hair growth (as I am not sure how fast it was growing before I started smoking pot) but I have noticed that my hair has seemed to be shinier and softer during the times of my life that I have smoked, and I seem too have less of a problem with frizz as well.
