Nice hair Jake, thats the exact length/look I want. How far are you going to grow it?
You say that as if I plan to stop. Terminal length (as long as it will grow).
Good Man!Good Man! Now thats the spirit... I like your plan.Great hair as it deserves to be as long as possible.Keep the updates comming.Mark
Your hair looks perfect, Jake. You have good length now. You should consider growing it to your waist. Straight hair is very easy to grow to waist length. It looks like it is time to ask Oren for an updated avatar photo. Keep growing it.
Absalom
Thanks Absalom. My hair isn't exactly straight; it has broad S waves that I think will look really cool as it grows longer. Of course some days my hair looks straighter and some days wavier, it depends on the weather, sleeping position, etc.
Hi Jake,
Your hair is about as perfect as it can get! You are blessed with thick, straight, super fast growing hair that is full of shine and is in great condition. You should email Oren to get your avatar changed. I saw from your reply to Will that you are planning to grow it as long as possible, that's great news indeed! You should have no difficulty growing hair like yours to classic length.
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David, I appreciate that. Yea, it's kind of a weird question to me. I just want to grow my hair long, I have no intention of stopping at any point.
Hi Jake,
This is a good update for sure. You have the type hair that looks so easy to manage - brushable, straight, etc. I think you won't have much of a problem at all growing it much longer. I'll look forward to seeing that as well.
Did you get contacts? I think I remember you mentioning that once before. I've always found that besides the aesthetics of it, that I can actually see better with them than glasses.
The reason I mention it is that a while back someone made the Peter Sellers connection. I think it was just the glasses, although resembling him isn't a bad thing. He made some hilarious movies. I saw one a while back called The Mouse that Roared that was great about the ficticious "Duchy of Grand Fenwick."
Thanks, it is pretty easy to manage for thet most part. It's on the thicker side so it tends to get more tangles, but I think that's worth it to have thick hair.
Yes, I did, and it was a great decision. You do see better with contacts because a) you have full vision, not limited to the edges of the glasses frames, and b) the distance of glasses from your eyes is variable and can make vision less than perfect.
Oh that's interesting. I don't really see a resemblance though. People usually say I look like Geddy Lee.
That's amazingly fast growth for just 2 years and 4 months!!! Of course, I realize I don't know what your short-hair length was when you started growing; but if it was even close to being like a "typical guy;s length", then that's amazing progress indeed!
I read in your response to Will that you're aiming for terminal length... COOL! I'm working on the same goal myself. Although my guess is that I'm getting close to terminal now, I think I can still eek out a few more inches. You can tell you're at or close to terminal by 2 main facts: 1) the end of your mane gets thinner and thinner (especially noticeable if you braid your hair, the lower portion of the braid will taper off gradually to a smaller and smaller circumference, until there are just a few hairs at the very end); your length seems to stay where it is without cutting, --- especially if you've tried to grow it for a year or more, and it just won't move (lol)!! In my case, my growth appears to move slower now (as well as my ends are pretty thin down there); but, a few months ago the length was just touching the top of my belt, but now can touch the bottom of that belt (YIPEEEEEE!)!!!!
Anyway, my prediction is that you'll EASILY reach my current length, --- if not well beyond! And... you're young, and have GREAT hair!!!!!!!

Well I think it's been about 2 years and 2 months since my last real cut, but I'm not quite sure. It's all hazy because for years I battled my parents about haircuts. They gradually let me get less and less cut off until they gave in. Now they like my long hair. I think they probably just had a problem with the common "mop top" messy look I had when my hair was 5-6 inches long. My dad had long hair during all his teen years, and he met my mom at age 14, so clearly my mom doesn't have a problem with long hair. Probably just the awkward phase. Well thanks Ken, you always give good advice.
Hi Jake,
Man your hair looks really good and has come a long way in two years. Many people would die for that kind of growth. The hair Gods must like you. :)
Thanks for the post
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, that's quite a compliment.
Just awesome, Jake! I love the way your hair hangs straight down and looks so thick. It's so cool that you're planning on growing it much longer.
Jason
Thanks Jason. I think we have similar hair, thick and wavy.
You look like my friend Zakk, and you both have awesome hair.
Keep it growing!

I agree with others, your hair looks very good and thick.
Cool hair. You look a lot like Geddy Lee which is cool as well.
Wow, Jake!
Your hair has made remarkable progress. I see a huge difference in length. Keep up the great progress.
Are you EVER lucky. That is the kind of long hair to die for. Looks fantastic!
Excellent hair, you still have that Geddy Lee look!!
