1. does gel cause baldness?
2. how many months does the first stage of bad hair (annoying bigness) last?
3. toweling hair not good for you?
4. when to use conditioner?
&&&& the last one 5. combing vigorously before bed stimulates growth??
*1. Never heard of that. It MIGHT cause VERY LITTLE damage if used inappropriately.
*2. You mean the awkward phase. It varies from person to person. Average is probably between 1 to 2 years.
*3 Toweling hair does not cause damage IF done appropriately. DO NOT rub harshly. Just pat your hair down to remove excess water.
*4.This varies from person to person but the normal thing to do is to condition after shampooing to replenish the stripped oil. You can also do conditioner only washes if you feel that your hair is too dry and needs moisture.
*5. Never heard of that before either. I know that BRUSHING stimulates the scalp increasing the blood flow to the hair roots which is a good thing. It helps distribute oils to the hair.
HOPE THIS HELPS
May I suggest Bill Choissers link "On Being a lobghair" it is full of useful information. I would go so far as to say you'll find answers to questions you didn't even know you had.

No, just BLINDNESS (like the old wives tale about doing a certain teenage activity that our grandmothers tried to stop boys from doing who were entering puberty).
You probably meant to say, "YEARS" here...
Well, it's certainly an improvement over using a *trowel*.
Before lunch.
Yes, your comb will definitely increase in size by morning.
