So I've begun to make the commitment to growing my hair out again. Its at the wild stage, which for me takes about a year to get over (until I can tie it back). Unfortunately, its only been about 7 months, and a new problem has arisen. For work, I have to wear one of those "one size fits all" hats with the plastic strap-thingie in the back. The problem is its "denting" my hair. From the top down the back it more or less follows the contour of my head, but once it gets to that strap, it poofs out and all hell breaks loose. Is there anything I can do (maintainence or product-wise) to counter this (without looking like an early Billy Ray Cyrus)?
The only way to get rid of that is to wash your hair, which will get rid of it all together.
What about a bandanna under the hard-hat? Are there any other people there of either gender with longer hair that are doing something?
Yeah, hat head is a problem isn't it? I don't think there's a solution--you have to either quit wearing hats or put up with it : (
I've decided to wear my hat as little as possible. Like I said, I work in a restaurant and have to wear it as part of my uniform, but for a good portion of the day I'm out doing deliveries, so I just take it off when I'm driving, or at the very least, turn it backwards so that the adjustment strap is in the front. I wouldn't be so bad if we got fitted hats without the strap, but with this job, I'm lucky they don't make me wear some ugly hairnet.
