WOW nice hair and nice hiking pictures, where were they taken?, looks like a nice hiking place. Great hair and great pics, take care!!
5155' above the Big Sur Coast of California. Cone Peak is less than three miles as the crow flies from the Pacific at Limekiln Beach...over a 30% grade.
Whoa . . . spectacular vistas, Trolleypup, spectacular vistas. Great hair length, too. Can't wait (well, guess I'll jus' HAVE to) 'til I achieve your length. It's good to see you can get away from that hellacious job in the city of Painted Ladies every now and again. Power to you, Trolleypup!
Sunny days, seventy degrees, cloudless skies, and my pet therianthrope, Amaringo, in his throne,

WOW! Amazing pictures! Looks incredibly peacefull. :)
Hi Trolleypup,
As always, your hair is outstanding. What a beautiful part of the world you live in, these nature pictures are awesome beyond words! I plan to visit California in 2009 and hope to take in as much of this marvelous scenery as I can.
All the best,
David
Hi David,
Are you also planning to come to Europe in 2009 as well.
Cheers,
John.
Hi John,
Actually, my first "big trip" will be my across the US tour in the spring of 2009, perhaps a month long or more, I still have to work out my best route. Hopefully, I will get to Europe at some time after my US "tour", I can't guarantee it will be in 2009, but it could happen the following year. It will be great to meet up and have a pint or two.
Cheers,
David
Beautiful location ... awesome mane ... thanks for sharing the photo. Do you usually wear your hair down when hiking? (I do - except on days the wind is blowing strongly.)
Also, have you reached terminal length - or is your hair still growing longer.
Karsten
No, I keep my hair up, either in my usual lazy bun for strolling type hikes, or in a ponyscrub for longer, more strenuous, or brushy hikes. Too much tangling otherwise, plus the whole exposure to UV issue.
I'm at terminal at 53"(LHC) or ~42"(MLHH).
Shangri-la?! Simply beautiful! peace, jonalbear
WOW! Very impressive all around, I really look forward to your posts. I'm hoping to make my way out there this fall if all goes well.
Kevin
No, this is a totally new pic (at least to my eyes), Trolleypup, --- and it is just drop-dead GORGEOUS!!!!! As usual, your pics are hands-down INSPIRING, --- both the scenery in the background, and the hair in the foreground!!
I've never been to Cone Peak; but I have been to Limekiln Park. The Big Sur region has to be one of the most majestic meetings of land & sea: Mother Nature's drama everywhere you look!
Thanks so much for sharing your pics here, Robert. They're a good example of why so many people enjoy coming to this board!
- Ken (in the same fair city you live in!)
Hard to go wrong with the background when you are on top of Cone Peak. Attached is another one I took looking the opposite direction, however the foreground is probably not acceptable here at higher resolution.
From Limekiln? Look UP! *waves*
Which isn't bad as a backdrop for hair either. We should have another meet...since I go bay it all day, I've been looking at the piers area between the Ferry Building and Levi Plaza Park...lots of good views there...and the grass and stream in the park looks promising too.
you can post the full pic at gaylonghair.com...
Tut Tut Your Bad Tai Fu lol
Two of the most gorgeous photos I have ever seen of the area. And to see a longhair looking out at the terrain and Pacific Ocean? Sensational!
Have never been to this particular spot, but the terrain reminds me very much of what one would see a bit further down the coast in Davenport.
Thanks for sharing these photos with all of us.
Fantastic picture Trolleypup! The scenery is beautiful and your hair is perfect. Did you use a tripod or did someone else take the picture? I usually will prop the camera on a rock or tree stump.
Keep on growin'
Bruce
Rock, in this case. Actually little bitty tripod perched on a rock. (Giotto ball pod...folds to 1.5" x 4" x 1")
Ok, I've got one of those...somewhere. I'll have to remember to pack it.
Hi! The scenery is breath taking as is your hair. Your hair is so long and thick, it pretty much ideal. I also liked your "on the job" picture from several weeks ago. Are you going as long as Danny Cecati? I think your hair is better.
Del
I love longhair pics in natural settings and it doesn't get any better than this photo! Awesome hair and breathtakingly beautiful scenery.
The view is fantastic and your hair looks great. Did you hike up from sea level? And if you did, how long did it take?
Absalom
No, we started at about 3000' on the south ridge, dropped down to 1500', more or less contoured around in a clockwise half-circle, climbed up the backside and went down the main trail and road to our starting point. I don't remember the mileage...12 or 15, with 4500' of uphill for the loop.
I have done it from sea level...6000' in 6 miles one way, some parts incredibly steep going up meadows. I think it was about 4 hours hiking time up. Not a hike to be done when it is dry (when the ground turns to ball bearings) or warm (no water, sun exposed...when I did it it was in the low 50s and we were sweating like pigs).
Wow, that is a severe hike. The most I would do is something like climbing to the top of Mt. Tamalpais from Mill Valley. To save distance when climbing, I tend to short cut. I prefer one mile of 30% grade to three miles of 10% grade. Going downhill is just the opposite, and hard on my legs, so I prefer three miles of 10% grade to one mile of 30% grade.
I would definitely like to go on a hike with you some time. Look me up next time you are doing Tam or an east bay hike.

Wow, truly wonderful scenery and long hair. One could never tire of seeing pictures as great as those, so thanks for sharing. It also reminds us how close longhair and nature are intertwined, everything looks so 'right' , natural and peaceful.
Great hair and view!
We don't have hills like that where I live.
