Hey,
I was just wondering how you guys dealt with the long straggly hairs that form just under the hairline on the neck.
Do you just carefully shave or trim them?
Do you get another person to do it for you as to avoid any slips and cuts into the hairline?
Thanks
Take Care
I just trimmed there this morning, having not touched that area in over 1 & 1/2 years. (I noticed the straggle in a recent pic.) I didn't want trim too far up as to make my hair look like a wig, so I just carefully, with a razor, trimmed about half way up, more or less. I think I'll trim the rest of the straggles with scissors (OMG, the "S" word)
btw, I did it myself.
Hope that helps,
Bruce
My wife just took care of those for me last weekend using the clippers that I use in the winter to trim my beard or to trim off my sideburns (I use the arms of my glasses to give me a point of reference). I do this about every 2 months or so.
I'm fortunate that I have her around to help even though she's not very enthusiastic about me now having the longest hair in the family.
That is one of the things I miss about going to the barber is having them take care of those things as well as my eyebrows now that I'm of "that age" where I need to worry about those too.

Eyebrows, and how about those nose and ear hairs! When I hit 35 it all of a sudden happened! I wanted long hair, but not there! lol!

Shave them carefully every couple of weeks.
Same goes for sideburns depending on how long I have them at any time.
I just leave mine be, as some point it will stop bothering you ;)
I shave them off once a month. I have a friend do it for me to make sure I dont cut real hair.
I do nothing, absolutely nothing to my neck hair. Why should you. Most women aren't doing that and it looks a lot more natural. I only taken some advice from women, once it goes into un-natural territory or just bizarre, I don't pay attention. I hope this helped.
I concur with Sheldon.
While I originally started this growing adventure with regular trimming of the back of the neck (to keep my short hair looking neat as it slowly started creeping out, much to my wife's chagrin), I have come to realize that it is a pain in the butt, looks bad unless continuously maintaied, caused (or can cause) razor burn - ouch!- and looks unnatural. Eventuall it mioght be just long enough to tuck into the low ponytail and, if my hair is down (and out, thanks to the curls) it hids the wispy neck hairs anyway.

I concur with he who concurs. I don't do anything with the neck hair, especially not shaving it, since as soon as it begins to grow back, the stubble rubs against the collar and the whole situation isn't comfortable at all. Plus, with a bare-shaved neck, my hair will stick to it when sweaty and pull it. It's much more comfortable for me just to leave it. Admittedly, it might look better cleaned up, but I'm not here to decorate the world either.
I shave them off.
