I read somewhere that tortoise shell combs are better than the hard rubber combs. I'm wondering how true that is if the hard rubber comb has wide teeth. The rubber comb I'm using seems to work just fine and never pulls my hair. Anyone think I need to buy a tortoise shell comb? If so, where would I buy one-everything I've seen in the stores are combs made of hard rubber?
I retired (22 years) last May and am now going through beauty school--wanna move to the Texas mountains and cut hair. Anyway, they tell me hard rubber combs are the best, as they injure the hair cuticle (surface of the hair shaft) the least.
