Well, i'm using this pomade quite often, almost everyday, Murray's Super Light Pomade, the ingredients that are in it is the following: Petrolatum, Lanolin, Coconut Oil, Aloe, Fragrance.
Is there somthing that is harmful for the hair, it does keep my hair in place almost the whole day, and i think that it could come quite in handy while i'm entering the awkward stage, or should i just stop using any products?
Simon
I think it isnt so bad, petrolatum is quite OK (after all, it is used in medical care, if I remember, or for other purposes :o)
I believe the fragrance should be harmless as well, hard to say without having any idea about its chemical basis.
I don't have much experience with the pomade, I use hair clips, but watch your hair carefully if they're still thick, healthy, shiny or whatever. Anyway, if I'd use it, I'd only fix some most uneven hair strands, thus not much, so it shouldn't matter. If the pomade would be really harmful, there would be some mention about it among the bugbears of chemical and heat hair straightening, don't you think?
Petrolatum (petroleum jelly, Vaseline) as the primary ingredient would be a no-go for me, Simon. The problem is that your hair does not absorb petrolatum as it would plant or animal based oils. My guess is that it is not easy to wash it out of your hair. If you are having to wash hard and with a lot of shampoo your hair is not going to like it. Products like Murray's Super Light Pomade are created for someone who has regular haircuts to keep their short style.
