There's a cautionary show biz maxim: "Never go on stage with animals or children -- they'll steal the scene every time.
hat's certainly the case with Debbie Allen's newest musical, "Alex in Wonderland," commissioned by the Kennedy Center and running at the Terrace Theater through the weekend.
The title character, Alex, is played by Kyle Jones, a talented, pint-sized charmer. He acts. He belts out songs. He lights up the stage. And when he taps with a "grown-up" he blows her away with relaxed easy grace. Talk about a scene stealer -- the adults don't have a chance when he's around, and much of the success of the show hangs on his vibrant performance.
But there's a bit of mystery about this young man. Most of the children in the large cast of dancers are seasoned performers. Their bios usually indicate their age -- "Arrington is an 8th grade student," "Chelsea is an 11-year old dancer," "Bethany is a proud 17-year old student." Kyle's bio only tells us he "recently relocated to California from Detroit" and he has appeared "locally, nationally and internationally." Could this diminutive performer be older than he looks?

Thanks for the welcome and compliment,when i was 12 to 13 yrs. old a time long ago i liked boys with long hair and at 18 men with long hair and i never out grew it and then the 80's glam metal was in and at 20yrs.my hair was to my waist i thought i looked to 70's and had it cut perm bleached it blonde and teased it out,I was going to a rock club in phila. called the empire rock club and when i walked in the club i had people come up to me and ask me why long alburn hair to your waist why,did you cut and bleach it? I even had somebody say to me,how do you like being a clone?It was the biggest hair mistake in my life.Margie

My wide likes Black Sabbath. I'm more of a Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin kind of guy. FWIW, my son likes Led Zeppelin too, and he's growing out his hair (again). I think we all like other types of music as well, though.

Thanks for the welcome,it's great that not all men over 30 are cutting thier hair short,not all men like long hair on women,men and women i know try to talk me into cutting my hair,more so women,some other woman will say to me,Marge you're over 40 you're getting white hairs,if you cut it short you will save money on bleach or dye,and i say back to them,i don't care about the white hairs in my hair,i like my hair long,short hair is not for me. so i know how long hair men feel when short hair men try to talk all you guys into cutting the hair.Margie

I'm the same age as you are and I've always been crazy about long hair for women (yours looks great!). When I was younger I kept my own hair short. Sometimes in the '70s I was even teased at school for having short hair.
It's now a little past shoulder length, dark brown, and reactions from people who knew me in earlier years have been very positive. (A woman who encouraged me as it grew even thinks it looks better in a ponytail than when I leave it down!) I've been so grateful that people are supportive of my wearing longer hair, so I wanted to say that you should definitely keep yours VERY long!

a ponytail is ok but i like hair down,i will keep my hair very long and you keep yours long too,Long hair forever,Thank you
