With each passing day (and with each passing inch), I'm digging hairy buns more & more, --- it's almost an addiction (lol)!!
When I first attempted, back in the mid-90s, to wear one of my hairy buns out in public, I felt very EXPOSED... Did a bun look too "fem" on me? What are my friends and family going to think?? Does it look like I'm trying to make some odd sort of "statement" of some kind? will wearing my hair in a bun draw too much attention???
Well, let me tell you that those early days of self-consciousnes are loooooooooooong GONE! Buns are so practical, so easy to make (not to also mention, bake!), and so helpful to wear (especially on windy days), that I find they are now my #1 way I look when I walk out of my apartment door...
I just bought a new digital camera. Once I read all about its features, one of the first things I want to do is send in pics of "how to" instructions for making your own hairy buns...
.... And you thought this was only a G-rated site (lol)!!

Look really great, Ken! I really like that look, especially with your hair color. Thanks for showing us! =)

nice hairy buns you have there Ken
Wow Ken! Does that ever look fabulous on you. What a photo of inspiration if there ever was. Guess I'm going to have to try it now.

Indeed!!! How to instructions would be great,Ive always wanted to try out a bun but i could never figure it out,I usually used a hairband and kinda flipped it under, but it never looked right lol, yours looks greatwith your haircolor. As far as ''self conciousness'' ....There are alot more gays with short spikey hair than anything lmao
Well, not everybody can pull off the bun look but you certainly can my friend...and Jason...and Danny and I think a few others I've seen on the board. I've contemplated giving buns a try as I certainly see their benefit especially while out surfing in the ocean or handling a wind storm. I sometimes find my ponytails flat out annoying so it would be neat to have a cool alternate way of wearing it. I truly believe that "Variety is the spice of life."
Hair looks great as always, Ken! Thanks for sharing...
Hey, Ken, buns are really practical like you said! Of course, you shouldn't care what others think, IMO they're the best way to restrain hair and be able to do everything as if you're a shorthair . When you take a shower and don't want to wet your hair, or maybe it's the best way to sleep...
hey Ken....i always find your pics fun and your comments always useful and many times humorous.....i dont think your hair looks fem at all, and even if it did, your other qualities scream masculinity, so no one will give you any sass.....and by the way, when will Even post some pics of his amazing mane...now that's one mane i'd like to see in a bun..........you know, i saw a pic of Even on the other website with his hair unloosened from his gorgeous braid.......now since someone made a comment abot his hair and Ruffles have ridges, i cant eat a Ruffle's potato chip without thinking about his hair........ah, what can i say......i am keeping my therapist in Prada....lol
Hi Ken,
As always, your hair looks great, shiny and healthy, (and not a gray hair to be seen, all is see is natural blonde!), and this style is awesome, what a great way to wear hair and keep it well protected at the same time. I am looking to your "how to" pictures, perhaps I can make a "hairy bun" of my own.
Take care,
David
That hairy bun looks marvelous, Ken.
I can see you've been out in the sun a lot lately :-)
Stay handsome, Ken!

P.S I read your comments about my update. Thank you so much for the warm comments Ken. It means a whole lot to me. yesterday I spoke to Oren about my avatar so it should be up sometime this week. By the way, I still haven't been able to resize the photo :-( I guess Oren will have to take care of that ;-)
That looks really neat Ken, its amazing how all that hair just disappears as it were.
I'm looking forward to your 'How To Make A Bun' manual. Maybe I could do a 'How To Look Like You Have Been Through A Hedge Backwards'.
Cheers, Dave
Hey Ken, your bun looks perfect. I am amazed how compact it is, considering how much hair you have. Maybe you can teach me how to do one sometime. (I will likely be over to visit Bill when he gets back.) Due to the sheer volume and length of my hair, a bun for me will likely be about fist size at the smallest.

Hahaha Ken, the title made my day!
Your hair looks cool in a bun, I wear them too sometimes
They're practical in the summer especially cause they minimize your hair's volume so it doesn't hold thatm uch heat in.
Thanks for sharing
