After seeing Jason's many pics and his latest video on braids I attempted to do it...with not much luck.
My hair is usually kinda dry and hard to manage...which leads me to my question.
I was wondering if it's OK to try to braid your hair while it's wet? I have much more control over mine when it's damp, but I didn't know if it would be harmful to my hair or not.
Thanx in advance and keep it growin', y'all!

If any damage is going to occur, it's going to happen while you try peeling the strands away from each other as you finger through it. Remember, hair stretches when it's wet. The last thing you want to do is give it a reason to break.
It's true what Nyghtfall said, that hair is at its weakest when wet; but I have braided my hair for years having the best success when it's damp (emphasis on DAMP, --- which is not the same thing as "soaking wet"). I've also read on one of those long-haired women's hair sites that some women also recommend that the hair be "well-oiled" before braiding. Since I don't go to hair sites other than this one very often, I'm assuming they meant one of the beneficial oils for hair such as what I use (Kukui nut oil, Almond oil, Jojoba, or even Olive oil). When I do use one of these oils on my hair, I only use a very small amount, --- and only in the lower half or third of my hair (I never use oil on the hair nearest my scalp, since my scalp can get plenty oily enough on its own, thank you!)....
It takes a little practice getting used to the feel of how to braid one's own hair; but, after awhile, it starts to become "2nd nature", --- and eventually, even a "breeze!"
Anyway, HAVE FUN!!
