News like this is always so painful to hear about. Our thoughts and prayers are most certainly with Rich in NY at this time. I remember his posts here well, and have always felt he just struck me as one of the very finest & most genuine "nice guys" that could ever be around!
Rich, if you are reading this at all, we are pulling for you. It may seem to be "all about hair" here; but, in reality, it is the care we give and share with each other that will survive the test of time and have powerful and lasting meaning... And nobody, --- or NO THING --- can ever take that away from you!!

Hello.
All kinds of cancer are even more sad, when a victim tries the "traditional treatment", which is basically an attempt to take the cancer to grave with body.
These common methods, as irradiation or chemotherapy are the worst thing what a person with cancer can do, their success rate is similar to failed suicides. Even cytostatics themselves are toxic and even cancerogenic! But they're very lucrative for illness (a.k.a. medical) industry and there is no other law for a market than law of a market. Suffering and dying people are just numbers beginning with a dollar sign.
I know these words are not kind at all, but Rich is still alive and more than kind words he needs to stop being poisoned right now!
Hi everyone, and Rich,
I am genuinely distressed to hear this horrible news, Axel. I have communicated privately with Rich in the past, shortly after he discovered the hyperboard, and he is a really nice guy, a perfect gentleman. I have noticed that Rich has not posted lately, to hear that this is the reason is truly heartbreaking.
Rich, if you are reading this, I just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Everyone on the hyperboard is pulling for you. If you feel the need to talk or could use some support, do not hestitate to drop me a line anytime.
Take care,
David
Thank you for the post, Axel,
I've spoken to you in the chatroom before, and aren't you HollyBoyRocks, too?
Cancer runs in my family, or rather, on the human side. It's a mutation, not fun like the mutations in "X-Men" or on "Heroes", but something that wishes us dead.
Paternal grandfather had lymphatic cancer. He got chemotherapy AND radiation therapy. Died. Maternal grandfather died of colon cancer. He had received irradiation, too. Maternal grandmother died of ovarian cancer. And SHE had received chemotherapy as well. That didn't help. Only a first cousin with non-Hodgkins lymphoma had benefitted from chemo. And my mother's sister died of a heart attack FROM THE MEDICAL TREATMENT she was receiving for stomach cancer.
Naex is right about the medical industry; they see someone ill and it just registers as dollar signs, treatment for illnesses just rakes up the cash.
Rich, I don't know you personally, everyone who knows you says you're a special guy, so, why not treat yourself special and contact the Hippocrates Health Institute? They have had EXCEPTIONAL RECOVERY RATES by treating terminally ill patients with a myriad different illnesses with non-traditional treatments.
Please contact them at http://hippocratesinstitute.org
Know that I fully support your efforts to cure yourself, Rich, as your disease IS NOT a death sentence; your body simply needs to realign itself and get back into balance. The good folk at the Hippocrates Health Institute can help you with the healing process. Best wishes . . .
Yours in healing,
Quenyan (+:-)}
Yes thats the name I use on My Space ! Im curious why do you ask ???
This is horrible news. :( Well, just hang in there man. Remember that when your life is at a downnpoint, it´s most important to keep fighting and never give up. That´s what life is all about, to never give up on yourself.
Remember that hair will grow back really fast. And when you do have your long hair back again, you will appreciate it more than ever. :)
Hi Axel.First and most importantly I only wish Rich a fast and speedy recovery from this awful illness.I ceratainly hope it was found early enough so he has his best shot at a full recovery. My thoughts will certainly be with Rich and as Ken noted it really is more than just about the hair as thats one of the main reasons why I enjoy hanging here as this is such a friendly group. So to Rich be strong and fight this illness so you can come back stronger than ever as I believe you can do it.And thank you Axel for passing along the word to all of us here.Best wishes.Mark
Leukaemia or not, the members of mlhh are there for you Rick and one never loses his hair spirit! I wish everything works out for you and the treatment proves successful after which you can always grow your hair long again. The important thing is that you feel better!

Rest assured that you are in our thoughts, hearts and minds during these terrible dark days. And, you will continue to be. We pray for an outcome that all in the end will result in good health once again.
We're all pulling for you.

This is really disturbing news. Cancer of any kind is hard to deal with, and the treatments can be difficult to endure. After reading the examples noted here, it may seem like the treatments don't work. But, not so! My mother had breast cancer, and after a radical mastectomy, she went thru the chemo and stuff. As of this time, she's doing great! The "evil" medical system saved her life.
My brother-in-law is also dealing with leukemia, and although it was rough, and he did lose his hair, he's continuing the treatments, and the prognosis is good!
Rich, I hope they found it early and the treatment is sucessful. You're in my prayers.
Lon

George
This community is wonderful and as soon as I have some hair again at a decent length I will get a new avatar. Thank you all again.
God Bless,
Rich
I'm very sad to hear this as I've known two people who had to deal with Leukaemia. My hopes and prayers are with you Rich you have a long hard road ahead of you but it can be beaten. When I worked for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union in the late 90's we did a lot of fundraising for Leukaemia research. I no longer work for the union but still do the event every year.
Your in my thoughts
Kevin
Hi Rich, I wish you all the best and strength from within to fight this disease and come out on top. Just stay upbeat and if you ever need to talk, we're all here. I am sure it is hard to go through all this that few of us can understand - so just
((((BIG HUG!!!)))

My most earnest support to you, Rich. Although I do not know you in person, I feel for you as my mum's down with B-Cell Lymphoma Cancer and has lost some of her hair, and obviously, feeling the full effects of chemotherapy.
Push on, get the fighter out in you and CONQUER CANCER. Have faith that you'll recover (and you will). Nothing is impossible, and impossible is nothing :).
You'll be back as a long-haired, healthy man in no time!
Best Wishes,
Jin
Also That reponded to this post with your kind words and thoughts I Thank You from the bottom of my Heart
Axel
I wish you a complete recovery, Rich. My mum had breast cancer and her hair grew back after chemotherapy. Sometimes your hair grows back differently at first, but then it reverts to it's original type. Her white hair grew back dark at first, which I'm sure she would have liked it to stay, but it didn't, it turned white again pretty quickly. She dyes it blonde anyway, LOL! My wife used to be a nurse in a children's hospital, and they used to have kids there with leukaemia who recovered completely.
You are going to beat this Rich!!
& You have the support of family and friends but also US-longhaired friends of yours from all parts of the Earth who are wishing you well and a speedy recovery, just as I am from Sydney, Australia.
You'll be right mate!
Rich
I'm so terribly sorry and will keep you in my prayers.
Hope you get better Rich!
