Is there anyone else here that are using brylcreem or have tried it?
It's so hard to stay away from this stuff actually, because it makes my hair really soft & shiny, it's great to use after shampooing because it tames any frizz/flyaways and puts back the life in the hair that shampooing takes away.
I don't really know if there's something really harmful in it but here are the ingredients:
Paraffinum liquidum
Cera alba
Hardened rapeseed oil
Petrolatum
Glyceryl stearate
Lanolin alcohol, Benzyl alcohol
Parfum
Calcium hydroxide
Behenic acid
Hydrogenated castor oil
Hydrolyzed keratin
Phenoxyethanol (conservating alcohol)
Methylparaben
Propylparaben
Though it does contain some kind of alcohol even though my hair feels great after using this.
I tend to have pretty much frizz/flyaways after showering so that's one of the reasons why i'm using this stuff.
Unless you come from an older generation, it's doubtful that anyone in the states has heard of it or used it. I think they used that stuff in like the 1950's so its very uncommon. The only time you ever hear of it is when you watch really old commercials or something
Never heard of it, but honestly it's probably fine. I can't think of many products that damage hair unless you literally drown your hair in them 24/7 or something, even then it wouldn't kill your hair.
Now, asking about flatirons and such is one thing--worrying about products is a little paranoid IMO. don't worry about it too much :)
where do you get it at
I buy it at the local store here in my city, but i've heard that it's rather hard to find nowadays, mostly people that fancy the 50's alot tend to use it.

I used it in the 70s. My wife threatened me if I went with the "wet look" so I'm using gell which actually isn't too much different. One of her concerns was that she thought it would stain my clothes.

Simpa88. Aaaaaaaaaaaarghhhh! Don't use that crap,(unless you fancy the fifties) Move into the 70s and use Dippity Doo! Actually I'd rather do the fly a way routine myself!
I think my grandmothr used to talk about that stuff. Anyway, I doubt it's harmful but you can useo ther products as well or non at all. WHat do you have against flyaways,I get them too after showering. I've come to the conclusion (well that works for oily hair) that the least products you put the better it looks.
So it actually depends on uoir hairtype. Still ,fi it's dry you can use leave-ins and oils can't you? ;)
