Hi Peg,
Just picking up from yours and Ken's earlier threads in buns. I also followed the link to Gollan's web site a while ago. Here's just a picture of my hair in a bun. It's certainly does keep your hair in one place and under control and easy to do.
I don't wash my hair everyday but it's great for keeping your hair dry as when your taking a shower.
So for me it's easy do. As for braiding Jason I'm still practising and your video is a worthy training tool.
Cheers,
John.B
PS...Don't you just loved those streaks of grey but hey it's natural!
Hey John
That looks great! Grey? So what..........it looks fine!
OK.........now you and Jason are starting to get the best of me as I am not as good as you guys are.
So, guess I better stop monkeying-around and start really "Practicing!"
Justin~
ps: In the local McDonalds here in town a guy wears a bun while working. It is just amazing how much is in that bun of his. Like about 3/4 back length!
Hi John,
What a great job you have done with your hair in a bun, I would like to try doing that with my hair but mine is not long enough yet. Your hair looks really good here, it is so thick and full, with lots of shine, and there is NOTHING wrong with the natural gray at all, natural is ALWAYS best in my opinion.
Cheers,
david
Hi John,
I was debating a bun at work as my hair is getting so long it's starting to get in the way but I wont cut it not even a trim.
Thanks for your post it's nice to see what others are doing with there hair and as for the grey well I've got mine too.
As for it making you look fat well did you know 65% of US adults
are overweight and 30% clinically obese.
Cheesecake anyone?
Cheers
Kevin
Hey, I resemble that remark: I just so happen to LOVE cheesecake (and my own waist-line is living proof of such - lol)!!
But, back to the bun topic, though... I think John's bun looks WAY better than mine. I guess I need some lessons!
As far as getting used to wearing a bun out in public... Well, that took a little time & a bit of bravery at first. I think it helps to check out your buns before going outside by looking at the back of your head in the mirror, first (with the aid of a 2nd mirror, --- a hand-held one). I always aim for a bun that is least shouting at me, "HEY, LOOK AT ME: THE GUY OVER HERE WITH HIS HAIR IN A BUN!!!!" I've learned over the years how to do a bun that looks pretty "understated" & casual (yet neat, --- and accomplishing the practical end I'm aiming for).
Have fun with your buns!
- Ken
Yes please, I'll take a rather large piece...
And pass the cherries while you're at it...
I saw my screen name in a thread title as I was scrolling through... wait what's this? lol.. kind of caught me off guard.
Thanks for the example, though. Your hair looks awesome in a bun. I'll have to get good at doing that sometime soon now.
And I agree with DavidN--natural is best! Gray streaks rule!
Hey John, the bun looks really sharp. It is quite large which tells me you have excellent hair thickness and volume. I DO like the grey streak, it looks cool.
