Can't say I know the answer, Vinnie, but that's a great pic; they look like they stepped write outta an old Andy Warhol's Factory film set, say, a young Joe Dallesandro and Holly Woodlawn, very late 1960's, early 1970's. Thanks for posting it up here, man.

You can never make a generalization like that and expect to get accurate answers. Longhaired men and short-haired women are individuals and can potentially like anybody.
But you could also look at it like this: short-haired women could like longhaired men more than other women since both are different from what (western) society expects from them. On the other hand, short-haired women (like the one in the pic, not those with buzzcuts or shaved heads) are more common than longhaired men, so their hairstyle might not really be an expression of individuality; they might just be copying other short-haired ladies around them.

Do butch-looking buzzed men really like those femmy French poodles? Does Lady Godiva prefer long-haired kitty-cats over short-haired, if she has so much hair of her own to have to brush? Did Queen Victoria ever really "let her hair down?" Did Yule Brenner in "The King and I" ever cry into his pillow at night, because he was bald? I was born in 1980 and I know who Yul Brynner is. (Am I old?)
He was awesome in The Magnificent Seven. (Though his hair was less than magnificent.)
