Greetings and Salutations...
Sorry its been awhile ...Well, I saw my parents for the first time in a year last week. I thought my dad was going to have a stroke when he saw my hair. (not that its long by this board's standards)... but you know what I mean. I must've heard, "you need a hair-cut 30 times in only 3 days!!
The pressure was on... and long hair prevailed!!
I've caved in so many times in the past ... but not this time. Thanks to everyone here for their support ... there is no place like mlhh.
Be Blessed.
Tristan :)
A pic from about a week ago ... yep .. nature at its best.
Peace..
Aah, hello Pastor Tristan,
Nice progress shot! Lookin' good, dude. That Eden? Take heed to steer clear of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil now. And cut and paste this good Christian link:

Oh, yeah! And if anyone ya know's a painter or illustrator, there'll be an exbibit next autumn in Los Angeles, entitled, "Angels and Demons: Blessed or Possessed?" at the A Shenere Velt (Yiddish for A Beautiful World) Gallery. Anyone can download and print out their prospectus here:

Ooops! My bad. The A Shenere Velt Gallery, which is hosting their fall exhibition (of which I'll be in; let's hear it for Fed Ex!) whose theme'll be, "Angels and Demons: Blessed or Possessed?", can be contacted at THIS (the correct) URL:

Looking cool there Tristan. I see a noticeable difference in length my man. You are definitely making good progress. I'd like to congratulate you for standing your ground and continuing to grow your hair.
See you around
Hey Chris;
Thanks ... I forgot to mention your great update last month. You're doing well yourself. Florida provides some nice humidity to do strange things to hair at times doesn't it??
Talk to you soon.
Tristan
Hi Tristan,
Welcome back, I agree that there is no place like the MLHH! I wanted to say that your hair looks great in your picture, and can only get better the longer you grow it.
I'm sorry about all the negative feedback you got from your parents (especially your dad), but I would like to extend a HEARTY congratulations to you for sticking to your guns and keeping your long hair. Keep up the hair growing journey, don't cave in to pressure, and rest assured that the reward is WELL worth it!
Take care, (and keep it growing),
David
Hey David;
It's good to be back. My schedule was nuts for awhile there. Hopefully I'll be posting more regularly..
Thanks for the encouragement .... it felt good to finally resist cutting it for once. In about another month I'll have grown it longer than its ever been. I'll do a formal update then probably.
Talk to you soon.
Tristan
Just to give you something to look forward to . . . . . .
My son graduated high school this week, and we had family in. I'm and old fart (53 years old) and still got the same reaction from my mother, only a little more direct. I got comments like "I hate it, I hate it, I hate it", "I'm going to cut it while you're sleeping", and "Your father is probably turning over in his grave right now".
It would be wonderful to have complete family support, but often doesn't happen. The path may be a little more difficult, but if it is the direction we want to take we can bear the brunt of whatever stands in the way.
Good luck with your future growth.
Big George
Hey Big George..
Yes ... sometimes it seems very irritating with those types of comments; but in the end I know it'll be worth it..
Thanks for the response..
Tristan
Your hair look great....stay out of the cooker ! HA!
WWT
Thanks..... you got it my friend.
Tristan
Ha, good to hear you didn't cave man. I have had and still do on occasion, not cutting my hair due to pressures. And my family supports me! Sometimes I dont realize how lucky I am that both my parents grew up in the 70's...
Keep it growin!
-Will
Thanks goodness pressure cookers have been replaced by far better cookware technology, as I don't know of a single cook or chef that uses one of those anymore... And I feel equally the same about people's comments that I should cut my hair!
I'm lucky, I guess, in that all my friends and family know that if they truly love me, then that would mean they would also want for me whatever makes me happiest... Whether or not THEY like my long hair is never the issue (and they know better than to voice that opinion, anyway, ---even if they secretly think it - lol).
You'll discover an interesting thing along your longhair journey, Tristan... The longer your hair gets, for *awhile*, the louder the complaints will become that you should cut it (always for THEM, of course), --- until one day, when your hair is really really REALLY long (and they've gotten really really REALLY used to realizing that their complaints accomplish NOTHING), you'll be surprised to quietly discover that for some reason the complainers have finally simply SHUT UP about it. Sometimes this may be due in part to having to "put your foot down" about it. But, many times, and in many cases, it is simply a matter of them finally coming to a point of logic and sound reasoning that quietly wakes them up to the fact that you are your own person, --- and that what you do with your own hair on your own head is the silliest, most petty thing in the world to complain about! Think about it: if all that someone's friends and/or relatives have to complain about not liking about you is your HAIR... Well, let's just say that it just doesn't get any shallower than that!!!
And congrats on your great-looking (and very fast!) hair growth, as shown in your most recent pic, --- in my opinion, you look simply AWESOME with that mane!!!!!
- Ken in San Francisco
Hey Ken..
Thanks for the support! Amazingly, when I read what you wrote, it sounds like what your describing is a verbal awkward phase. Eventually it will hopefully just go away. People will find other things to preoccupy themselves with ... besides my hair....
Sorry for the delay on my response ...
Be Blessed..
Tristan
