I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with hair colour, not the permanent stuff, but the stuff that washes out after a few washes.
Is it good for your hair?
Does it actually wash out after a few washes or are there traces of it left?
What have you done when you didn't like the colour you died it?
Well, i've used both the permanent dyes, semi-permanent and the ones that fade after a few washes, the only thing i now is that any dye is quite harmful, at least on my hair, the hair often gets more dry when coloring and stuff, now it's been almost a year since i last dyed my hair darkbrown/black and i will not do it again because of all the damage it caused.
That's also on of the reasons why i cut my hair short, to get rid of as much dye as possible.
The ones which last a few washes are semi-permanent.
Usually semi-permanent dyes moisturise the hair, which is good for it.
Permanent dyes are worse for your hair because they penetrate deeper into the hair shaft, especially if you have damaged hair ala simpa88 did before.
Semi-permanent hair colour is not bad for your hair.
Some semi permanents can leave a more permanent tinge or residue in your hair.
With semi - permanent, if you don't like the colour, another one can be put straight over it.
a lot of semi permanent are bad for hair dude...

Depending on what your hairs condition is. If it is fine, it is usually 100% fine and not damaging.
I'm usually just a lurker, but I gotta step up on this one!
I used one for a cancer awareness thing at work. We were supposed to wear red, so me and a few other smarta**s decided to dye our hair red. I was really hesitant because I was 4 months into my growing out process, but I did it anyway and wished I hadn't. I used one made by L'Oreal
I have dark brown hair--almost black, so it didn't really show up anyway, but it didn't wash out in 8 washed like it was supposed to. My hair just had an purplish tint...for about 2 months!
A friend suggested using dish soap to get rid of it, but that didn't really help.
The process was VERY messy as well.
I don't think it damaged my hair, but it was annoying!
And now...back to lurking!
All I can say is remember to buy some special colour-treated hair conditioner so that you can actually comb your hair afterwards!!! (It becomes ever so dry... and will be like a nightmare trying to comb, even with normal conditioner).
I wouldn't suggest it, but that's my only tip if you do.
