Hey my name is Angel and as a fellow long hair I thought I would like to meet others with long hair and maybe hear their experiences and stories. As for me a musician and writer I would like to hear some of your stories maybe good or bad experiences on a circumstance that your hair played a main role or was the center of the attention. As for me I get the ocassional complimenting by woman on my hair and the brute idiotic remarks by ignorant others. Have a good one you all and take care.

Hey Angel 2, Welcome and yes I do have a few incidents where my hair was the center of attention. One was when I got my most recent job I used to trim my sides and wear the rest tied back and tucked under my shirt. Most people at work couldn't tell that I had a long tail. After someone figured it out the word spread fast and most people did'nt believe it. Some others started a pool and placed bets on how long my tail was. After a few months of speculation the unveiling took place at a shift party we had at a local bar. Most jaws dropped when they saw the "end" result because they couldn't believe that it was that long. One guy guessed it exactly right at 28 inches merely by guessing his age. Alas I am still the only longhair although some people have said they would like to grow their hair as long as mine.

Hey Jake, How perceptive of you. Yes a mullet before I found the way and let the sides grow in. Been 2 1/2 years since then. This is the new me!

Your own long hair looks dynamite fantastic! Already of great inspiration to so many of us.
Music and the arts so often fit the longhair the easiest of all in the "ridicule arena." Guess it is because people (for whatever reason) have for the most part come to accept that. Actually, they almost seem to expect it. Could one even imagine Mozart with a "Buzz-Cut?"

Great, amaaaaaaazing mane ya got there! Where in the world are ya? Lots of good folk here, as well as some "Good Folk" ***snicker*** F.Y.I., the most condescending remark I ever got was, "My planet to your planet!", and recently from an innocent five-year-old, "Mommy? Is that a lady or a man?"

So glad you found us, Welcome. I'm sure many of us would love to share out stories with you so brace yourself. LOL
My story is simple in my early twenties I wondered what I would look like with longhair. so I started growing and haven't stopped. I decided then I liked myself with longhair it made me somewhat unique people remembered me as I didn't look like the millions of other short hairs. I didn't do it in an effort to follow a trend, or look like my favorite celebrity, or attract a mate. I just wanted to do it for the hell of it.
Kind of boring but there it is in short.
