If you search down the page (perhaps using the "find" function on your browser) you find a post or two by Mr. Crow. He has curly hair like yours, and he's been posting pictures on a MySpace account. You have to log-in to view the photos, but even the one on his main page can give you an idea of what over a year of progress looks like.
From what I've gathered on this board, curly hair takes a LOT of patience to grow. It goes up and out and around and around before ever considering moving towards the floor. I think where you're at for nearly six months is good progress, and you should give it at least another year before making a true judgement of your hair.

Curly hair does that mate, doesn't look bad to me either!
are you kidding?!? this looks great! i wish i had curly hair...
It reminds me of some of Mr. Crow's earlier posts. Shawn has been at it for over a year, and his just keeps getting better! Yours is looking awsome! My hair is so straight and fine, and yours has those great curls. I'm jealous!

The one truth of hair is that everybody with curly hair wants straight hair, and everybody with straight hair wants curly hair. :-)
Dear Forbinatorr,
Yes. Your hair is great. I abhor the cliche, but there are many who would "die" to have hair like yours. I am sure it is difficult to manage at times but be patient.
I even have a picture of Jesus where he was working as a modle selling some product, I have forgotten what, maybe a Jesus doll, and even he had a bad hair day.
I suggest that you look at this photo and say: "I have wonderful hair. I wonder what it will look like next week."
It will be different.
Do not compare yourself with others. You will never have hair like Mr. Crow, though I agree that you should consult his progress. But however evious he may be, Mr. Crow will never have hair like yours.
Enjoy the journey.

Hi fobinatorr,
Your hair looks great in this picture, and grows FAST as well, that is amazing progress for only 5 1/2 months! PLEASE think long and hard before cutting off those shiny curls, and hang in there! Curly hair can look AWESOME when long, check out the user's directory for pictures of "Fallen Angels", SOADdude, and "Bodhi", for a few examples of long, curly hair, their hair ROCKS!
Keep it growing,
David
I'm not following you bro... You're hair doesn't like like crap at all. Looks quite healthy and full. Looks pretty cool, if you ask me. Anyhow, I'd say you're doing fine man. Just relax and have patience. You'll get there.
Vince
It looks like curly hair to me. The thing with curly hair is it's curly.
When it get really long it looks cool but if you cut it when it bugs you it wont ever be long.
during the awkward growing out stage.
Dude you great hair, and it will look wonderful when long. You have large open curls which will relax under gravity with added length.
To get an idea what it will look like when long, move up one line, above your post, and click on the post by SOAD Dude. Click on his avatar and take a good look. Your hair will look similar to his when long.
Curly hair requires the most patience to grow long, but the reward is worth it. You are so blessed that your hair grows nearly an inch per month. In another year you will have 15 inches of beautiful curly hair. Let it grow, and don't give in, the best is yet to come.

Dude, you have great hair, and you are blessed with the curls... keep going and you wont regret it!

Hi, Fobinatorr.
In my honest opinion, Your hair looks amazing. I see some very healthy, shiny, and defined curls. Curly hair requires more patience to grow long than it's counterpart. I say, Hang in there, Keep it growing and don't let the awkward phase get the best of you! Below, You will find a link to: "On being a long hair" written by Bill Choisser, A very revered figure around here. It will answer most if not all of your questions plus, It thoroughly explains the awkward phase.
I sometimes want curly hair. Great hair.
Thats far from crap, thats cool.
