Hi,
I started growing my hair in August 04 from a buzz cut, so now it's 22 months ago, I'll be at the 2 years mark in August.
My hair is kind a strange. For the first 14-16 months, my hair was curly and messy, I had a terrible anwkard(?) phase. But for the past 6 months, my hair gradually became straighter, and now it is completely straight, just some waves, but it is still THICK! What I find strange is that at 22 months, I am only like 1 inch past the shoulder :S .Is it normal?
There is some things I did that I think may have slowed my progress...
During the 8-10 months, I used straightening irons :S.
I blowdry my hair each day, and this is mandatory, because otherwise my hair is ugly.
I'm getting trims each 6 months. The first one,at maybe 6-7 months, she treated me like I didn't want long hair, and she cut like 1 inches of my bangs :|, so that they reach my eyes, on my eyebrows.. The second one, at 13-14 months, was because I had a mullet and it was ugly, so she cut just like 1 inch at the back, and reduced my thickness a little bit. I was not very satisfied with these 2 trims. The third one was at 18-19 months, and it was mandatory, because I had one side of my hair thicker than the other haha :S. I really loved what she did, she just cut my split ends and reduced my thickness (even with this trim, I still have LOT of thickness. Trims are necessary, because my hair is prone to split ends.
So now , like I said, I have my hair reaching maybe 1 inch past my shoulders,2 inches at some places. I have a blunt cut, I don't know if this is the good term, well my hair is nearly the same length in the front than behind (that's why I wanted).
So, is my lenght normal?
And sorry for my grammatical errors, english is not my first language :S.
Unfortunately I don't have a camera, so I can't post pics :S. Maybe at my 2 year mark, because I'll be at my parent's house and they have one so I'll take some pics.
sounds like my hair is not so different. At first it went outwards then as it grew longer it grew down due to gravity. Just be patient and leave your hair alone
