Hello all on the board!
I'm sure this must have been done before but I am interested to find out the number of you who have long hair without a beard or moustache. I have been seeing a lot of people with long hair lately in the UK but the greater percentage of these people have either a goatee or full beard. I haven't seen many who just have long hair and no beard. I used to have a goatee for a while - about a year - but shaved it off.
Cheers,
RM

I dont,but im only 15 so i cant grow a beard yet.
a.
I have both but trimmed. Does that count?
I have never worn a beard or a moustache. I have never liked the way facial hair feels on my face the few times I have skipped shaving for a day or two. Nor do I like the way it looks on me.

I'd like to grow some sort of facial hair..but at the moment I cannot.
I don't and I've noticed it doesn't suit me or at least I don't like the way it looks. Maybe someday I may grow to see again though.
Funnily enough, I recently decided to let the beard grow (three weeks and counting). I let it grow when I was 19 and 27, so now aged 35 it's time to see how it is.
So far not so sparse as before, but still kind of patchy. One patch is now growing white. It's better when it gets longer, but it's not thick enough to shape, so I just let the whole lot grow.
The first week is the only difficult time, when the fresh bristles
press at the crease in my neck, but once they grow a little longer they flex - problem sorted!
It's stubble that's scratchy I tell people; a beard is very soft to the touch (:
I got a goatee and moustache as soon as I could (still 16), and now i'd say it looks much better. In any case, no one has mistaken me for a girl just yet, hence so far it's done the job.
I have grown my hair to about shoulder length now, and just recently started growing a beard (only a few days ago, so it's nothing much), but I'm not going to grow out a moustache.
But as of now, I won't say that I have a beard, just somewhat long hair, as my beard is only about 8 days of growth. :P
Hi RainMaker,
For my entire life I was beardless, and had NO desire for one! In January, I was encouraged by some of the members here (especially Bill) to try my first ever beard. I have to say that I am VERY happy with it right now, and don't plan to shave it off anytime soon.

I have had neither for the last two years.
Prior to that I had a mustache since I was 21, with various combinations of beards and van dykes during that time.
Hi, beard for me :-)
Tough I fully respect who likes it obviously =)
Ahh, but you're not as ugly as us!
I actually agree with that statement if it is address to me regarding me having facial hair

Long hair only, here. I've actually never had a beard or a mustache. Although I haven't shaved in almost a week, which is probably the longest I've gone in years (I haven't had to work in awhile, heh).
Oddly enough, I'm probably one of the few here who prefers the "clean cut" look when it comes to facial hair--none.
Full beard, moustache and longhair for me. It's almost like a holy trinity. peace, jonalbear
I've never done the beard thing, but do on occasion let the sideburns get really long, like down around my jawline.
Never started shaving! For a long while my beard grew only under my chin, and filled in sometime in my twenties. Never been hassled for having a beard, which I can't say is true about my hair. Whenever I think about trying a clean shaven look I think about having to shave every day and decide I will keep my beard!
I have my mouth ringed (whatever that's called) but I'm not married to it. The paradox (for me at least) is that while I am in favor of unrestrained head hair (otherwise I wouldn't be here) I think face hair should be um, maintained. I'll probably shave mine at some point, because simply buzzing my whole face every day is easier, but also because I have a problem with my facial hair--it's coarse stiff hair and there are times when I'm running and I'll inhale a loose hair and choke on it.
Not anymore. I had a beard and thin moustache (you couldn't see it, literally) for a few months, but I always thought it gave me a...rougher, less androgynous appearance than I liked for myself. So, I've decided to go more or less clean-shaven for a while. I get mistaken for a girl from time to time, but I don't care; the girls like it. :P
I think facial hair generally looks cool, though, if it's longish to long or trimmed fairly neatly; it's just not for me. Facial hair often looks the best with long hair, in my opinion.
Peace
I would like to have a longer, more stylish mustache and try a goatee, but I currently have safety restrictions on my job. After retirement, I will experiment (with the approval of the MLHH community of course !!

I have a "little" beard on my chin. (Hem..., in fact, I don't have facial hair on my cheeks neither near my ears yet =))

I dont have facial hair for the reasons it dont suit me and thats my opinion I like being clean shaven facial i do wear stubble on my face at times as soon as it gets on my nervous it gets shaved of lol ......I think beards make guys look older to in some cases

And I do miss my moustache occassionally. Although I do know that it will be back at certain times in the future.
Probablly along with the soulpatch/goatee combo that I really like.
If I could grow a beard I would. By the way there is another Tom on the board isnt there?
I grow my beard out in late fall and shave it off in mid-March. That's one of the ways I've managed to tick off my barber - he always looked forward to shearing it off to mark the official start of spring. It also means that I can enjoy ice cream more in the summer without "saving some for later" ;-)
It's interesting that I get some hassle at work about the beard but none about the hair. At least that's what I presumed the question from the head of HR meant when she asked me how big I was going to let the beard grow.
