I´m seriously starting to consider a small cut. My bangs are just past my nose now, but I´ve got this huge mullet. I´m thinking about cuting the back when my hair reaches my chin, to even everything out.
I think a more even hair will look better on me too. I´m not that thrilled about having longer hair in the back once it gets long. Though, I have to ask you guys first of course. Is this a bad idea?
A lot of people complain about this mullet phase you mentioned... I myself didn't really noticed it because my hair is wavy, and curled a lot in the back.
What matters is how much you desire more lenght. At the stage you are, I would never have a haircut because I'm desperate for more and more lenght. Even now that my hair is midback lenght I am so afraid of scissors... But to each his own... I also dream of a nice straight hemline, and evened out hair =) You gotta chose from this two: lenght or evened out hair.
Honestly tough, if you think the loss of lenght in the back, at this stage, will not bother you at all, I'd say go for it! Evening out the hair in the early stages can have a lot of benefits for a lot of things about your hair, like less tangles, ledd splits, less dryness, and a lot of hassles that you will eventually face sooner or later if you want super long hair.
I wish you good luck on your decision... if you're not sure follow the two week rule, and remember to do what YOU want to do ok?
=)
It's neither good nor bad, it's all down to your tastes. I personally hate the 'bob' look and would only even out my length if it cleared my shoulders at least. I've stuck with the 'long back' for my entire growth journey and while, admittedly, it looked less than great at the start, after about 2 years you probably won't notice the length variations. It's the same as many other not-so-cool looking things you have to ride out for a while. And besides - going back to personal taste as I mentioned before - I prefer the V-shape of a longer back anyway.
So, "if I were you", I'd wait until the hair reached such a length that if evened out, would not leave a 'bob' suspended above the shoulders.

Du gör precis det du känner för, har själv också funderat lite på å jämna till luggen, eftersom ena sidan är längre än den andra, men man ser ju vad som händer framöver.

It is all down to personal preference. As you probably know, I like the all-one-length look so my opinion is: yes, do it!
I don't understand this preoccupation that some have about not looking like they have a mullet. I had a mullet the last time I grew my hair out. The mullet look is "business in the front, party in the back" and I used to make sure that my bang never went past my eyebrows, while the back grew to mid-back. When I look at pictures from that time, my first thought is, "What was I thinking?". Then I remember the cute lady barber in the truck stop in Indianapolis who said this was her favorite look, and that she didn't have a boyfriend at the time. ;) I made sure that she was the only one to trim it. When she told me she was getting married, I got it cut the next time I got back to Tucson.
The pics you posted last time don't say "mullet" to me, only "Awkward Phase" on the way to "awesome phase". Personally, I think you look great, and I wouldn't trim it till much later, but I am also a fan of the natural V-shape in the back. I've let mine grow past the dreaded A.P. and I don't regret it. Hang in there! You'll see!
The last thing you want to do is become discouraged with your hair. If you are really having a hard time with the mullet phase and you ultimately are wanting long one length hair anyway then I'd say maybe a trim could be beneficial for you. But, if you prefer a natural grow out but the mullet is just killing you...I'd say just wait it out. It's short lived relatively speaking and will be over before you know it. A cap can work wonders if you're really self conscious about it. I grew my hair from a buzz with no trims and definitely went through the mullet phase. I couldn't be bothered, though, and it went as quickly as it came.
Part of the challenge that I've been having is how to wear my hair so that it looks "right" on me. I also wanted to avoid the dreaded "mullet" look which is one of the reasons that I've been combing my hair back. That way I can focus on overall length and fullness.
Here's a comparison - me in 1981 (big sideburns rule!) [smile]

I still have to use quite a bit of gell to get my hair to stay combed back but it's learning it's place slowly and because the hair at the front is combed back, the length at the front isn't an issue.
The way you comb and style your hair can make a huge difference in how it looks so I'd suggest you experiment with that prior to getting anything cut off.
Just my own perspective and thoughts.
P.S. - If the pictures don't show, my server may be off. It's only on during the day in North American Easter Standard time (long story).

I have my own web server (old laptop) and I turn it off at night to allow it to cool off and to reduce my power usage. There's just pictures of my boat projects and stuff on it and my email get's queued up by my DNS provider so there's no harm (to me) to having it off at night.

My wife at the early awkward phase used to tell me I had a mullet going. She was trying to discourage me from growing long hair at all. Don't fall victim to that ploy. If you feel in heart that it needs to be trimmed, make sure you pick someone you can trust and that they clearly understand what you want. You don't want to end up with a "bob"

I think you could take a slight bit off the back if it makes you feel better. It's a little hard to see what's going on with your avatar pic.... can you post an updated pic?

"Friends don't let friends get haircuts."
Tough call, if the mullet idea bugs you then go ahead and trim. When I was growing mine out in the early 90's mullets weren't so out of fashion so I waited until my hair was past my shoulders then trimmed 2 or 3 cm every 4 months until all my hair was the same length. It was an easier transition that took 18 months.
Good luck
Kevin
It wouldn't look like a mullet IMO but if you like more the even-up look then go for it. It's just that it's still pretty short and losing length is not advisable if you're impatient. I mean, you can always even it later. It's your call :D
