Hello Gang,
Been a long time since I've posted here. My girlfriend, who is wonderful, had me over last weekend. To be brief, her daughter and her mother despise me already because I'm stealing her away from them. Her son really likes me.
This week, she was sick and her mother and daughter were making her sicker with their nagging and screaming so I had her stay at my home. She's 40 years old, her daughter is 17, and her mother is 77. You THINK they would have the common courtesy to leave her alone.
Long story short, the mother threatened to call the cops because I'm a "long-haired drug dealer" who kidnapped her daughter. The g/f's daughter also called the police reporting her "missing for 2 weeks" and thinks the "long haired scumbag" may have murdered her. The g/f went to work, got a call from the PD, and straightened it out, but I still had a squad car show up at my door with 2 cops who seemed to have seen this before and were embarrased to have to check out a crank complaint.
I didn't even tell the g/f about the squad car, she would totally lose it with her "family". Funny thing is, I live in Massachusetts, a "Blue State", and have had less grief from "Red States" regarding my hair. If it weren't so absurdly funny at the time, I may have lost my temper as well. My parents, although they wish I'd cut my hair, said they were narrow-minded fruitbats.
Thank God for my g/f! And thank God she loves a long haired man!
That's insane really :(
Why are people so damn selfish? If she wants to go out with you then it doesn't matter who the hell you are, even if you're are a drug dealer, her family should still let her do whatever her heart tells her to.
I don't know how she survived 40 years with a family like that. I would have left at 18 and never looked back. Luckily my family isn't like that, or not all of it anyway.
Sorry to hear, but as long as she loves you no matter what grief her parents cause, you'll be fine :)
Good luck.
Great respect for your girlfriend for staying with you despite her family's horrible stereotypical views, especially since they act on those stereotypes. And clearly you have done nothing for them to view you as a bad person.
Thanks, it is refreshing to know that there are more people like me and my girlfriend than I previously thought. But you are right, sometimes it doesn't take a horrible deed to make others hate you, just simple prejudice. Nice hair, by the way!
...assert her rights. There are things going on just below the surface. Seems her daughter and her mother "know what's best' for this woman. She needs to let them know that her love life is not their business.
Someday the daughter will go off to have her own life and her mother won't be around, so she needs to think about her own future happiness...and NOW is the time to start working on that.
. . . My parents, although they wish I'd cut my hair, said they were narrow-minded fruitbats.
Hey, SavageHair, man, I say your girlfriend's mother as well as her sister are both possessed. Yup. Lower level discarnates, engrafters as us parapsychologists call 'em, that might not've ever BEEN human souls, jus' jealous OF humans, trouble-maker spirits, that feed off of emotional chaos like this. Hey, I'm fifty, that's one of my dogs asleep in the background, and I've seen this kind of discarnate-related behaviour decade after decade after decade.
And, hey, you're to be lauded with kudos for staying WITH such a good woman who will (and does) stand beside her mate. Excellent of her, man, excellent of her!
But, hey, do your parents have to be so condescending towards fruitbats?! I bet that they're probably more sane than those who they were compared to! LOL! Don't they look like flyin' foxes?
Best wishes in longhaired camaraderie,
Quenyan (+:-)}
That's a good twist of the story finally. Yet, what's happened to you is really annoying. Your girlfriend should really consider her family from now on. At least her daughter should show some understanding that her mother can't always be with her. Bury the grandma (just kidding lol)
Oh my! That's quite a story to tell! I've not had anything quite that exciting....although my grandmother doesn't like it she'd never do anything more than ask me why I like it long.....and tell me it's what's on the inside that counts. XD Which is kind of a back hand comment but oh well ;)
Keep in mind that "filing false police reports" is a crime. Reminding those who might cause you grief with that may spare you that grief.
