So im planning on getting plastic surgery. Anyone here have any plastic surgery at all? Anyone on here planning on getting any?
Here's what i want done:
Rhinoplasty....I want my nose MUCH smaller, and more feminine looking
Smaller rounder more feminine chin
Adam's apple shaved down
facial hair removal (permanant)
eyelid surgery
Brow lift
some type of resurfacing (dont know weather i want laser resurfacing or dermabrasion)
I was thinking about getting this all done in Thiland as its cheaper there and i've read alot of success storys. Yeah theres a few people that get messed up (less than %1) but you just hear about those storys more becuase they are more interesting.
Heres the part that everyone on here will be interested in
There is currently research on being able to clone hair cells and transplant them. It is estimated in the near future (less than 10 years) that is will be perfected and used commonly in practice. So this way people can get hair transplants and end up with MORE hair than they had before...rather then just moving it. Once they start using this in practice i'll probaibly get a lower hairline.
Hey !
You'r nice looking , don't change anything !
Cya
It sounds as if he is going for gender reassignment.
im not going for gender reassignment.
im not changing me sex organs or getting brests or anything
im just becomeing a trap
a trap?
Yeah, its when a guy is so femmy looking you cant tell if its a guy or a girl
hahah! You want to deceive drunk guys huh?
Just joking, please don't get mad
Ouch !!!!!!!
Are you so interested in this look that you are willing to go through considerable surgical procedures, which will be painful, and expensive? Are you interested enough to make these features pretty much permanent? From the way you described the various steps, it sounds as if you would be doing considerable surgical "taking away" which would be difficult or impossible to "put back" if you were to change your perspective down the road. If this really isn't a matter as deeply seated as gender reassignment, you would do well to give some long and hard thought to the implications of all these changes.
this is something i've wanted for years and i know i will always be happier looking femmy than looking like my ugly self now
You're not ugly!
Oh Otaku, unless your portrait here has been tweaked you already have the look pulled off. Short of having blue hair you are already bishonen. ^-^
No reputable doctor will take your money if what you are asking for will not give you the results you desire. An operation on your outsides will not be a success if you don't have your insides together. It may be that plastic surgery is for you but calling yourself ugly makes me doubt you are ready. Who convinced you that you are ugly and why did you give them that power over you?

A great irony here is that you are FAR from ugly in your present, natural state. You do have a naturally "soft" look that is VERY attractive. There's a real difference between that, though, and a surgical creation. In any case, I just don't see "ugliness" as a rationale for the major surgical schedule you are proposing. You are NOT ugly.
Ken
Hmmmmmm...what will they do next.
Why are you having all this done.
Aren't you a bit young for a brow lift.
Will friends recognize you.
What is your main purpose for having all these things done.
What happens when you are old.
Just a few questions that went through my mind.
It sounds like it's in preparation for reassignment surgery to me, but I don't want to speak for him.
to answer your questions:
1) im trying to become androgynous
2) I have a low brow, was born with one like many
3) hopefully not
4) *points to question 1* ....at least i THINK thats the same question just re-worded...
5) what do you mean?
Well, whatever you do, don't overdo the surgery. I mean look at Michael Jackson!!!
Need I say more?!
MICHAEL JACKSON?!!! AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH
I spit all over my monitor.
I read something about him by a plastic surgeon who said he had an 'end stage' nose job, i.e. if he went any further he wouldn't have a nose. Of course, if Jacko wants to look like a white woman that's up to him, but obviously at some point he went beyond that to looking like some kind of plastic surgery victim.
What, are you trying to become a transexual or something?
Can you hear yourself talking, or do I need to set you up with some monitors?
You look great... don't get blinded by the stage lights.
~JeffL
Very interesting. I have some transgendered friends and I know how much this means to them.
Just be careful and make sure that you have PLENTY of money.
If you are really serious about this then you should talk to a Doctor about hormone therapy. The longer that testosterone is the dominant hormone in your body then the more you will masculinize, which in my opinion, makes feminizing procedures less effective.
Best wishes and good luck.
Jeffrey.
Hi there.
Well I havent had any plastic surgery and in fact Im not really into it because I think poeple must like themselves for who they are or they will never be tottaly happy. I think you're a really cute boy (and Im not saying this just to try to disuade you) and that by doing those surgeries you will loose a lot of who you are. But well, if you are not doing it just to feel better, if you're really sure you want to become androgynous and you wnat to spend all that money that's your body and your decision to make. Just give a lot of thinking to this and dontbe influenced, because no matter what people say, its YOU who has to be satisfied.
Good luck
When you are flying through the air, will it appear as if you are still but the background is moving?
uhhh..sure
Hey Otaku... I remember we had chatted about this before, and if this is what you really want, I'm glad to hear that you're still deciding to go through with it. You explained the reasons to me, and I won't go in depth about them on the board, as I think that it's your choice as to whether or not you'd like to share that, but whatever the outcome, I hope you have a happier life as a result of the surgery. =)

Why?

Well, I'm all for androgyny, but I don't think I would go so far as to surgically make myself more feminine-looking. The thing is that this is more or less permanent; I suppose you can "correct" mistakes by more surgery later down the line, but this could lead to an ugly cycle of surgical sessions.
Are you totally sure you want to do this? Besides that this has far-reaching effects, it's probably pretty expensive, as well. The money spent on doing this could be spent on other things, like school or your future. Perhaps the surgery IS your future, but it's just an aesthetic enhancement, whereas something like school or putting the money in a savings account could reap huge benefits down the line.
But, ultimately, it's your decision, so do as you wish. Our bodies are our temples, and we should be able to decorate them in any way we like. Just be aware that what we like today may be what we hate tomorrow.
Peace
Otaku (and everyone!), Quenyan here!
We've already had this discussion off the board. This is a very tastey subject to discuss! Hey, man, who the heck am I to try, feebly I daresay, to dissuade you from your goal. There are people who even have themselves cosmetically altered to better resemble the totem animals that they somehow feel more akin to than humans!
A friend of mine, a mom with four kids, two just starting college, who had attended S.V.A. with me (that's the School of Visual Arts in NYC, which we kidded about even back in the seventies that it stood for the School for Vivacious Androgynes, there was so much glam rock back then, that is, before the first wave of punk rock crept in!), told me that there's already a coffee table art book all on the subculture of fans of manga and anime who get themselves surgically augmented to resemble samesaid characters. Whoa.
A common thread here in which everyone who isn't glib, Bragi immediately comes to mind, is that you might get caught in a neverending cycle of surgeries (hello, Michael Jackson!) to the point of dissatisfaction and/or disfigurement, OR, that there's a hint of what in the psychiatric field has been dubbed "body dysmorphic disorder", OR, there's that possible little bugaboo of addiction to pain-killers as well as the risk of opportunistic infections.
Like Fallen Angels, Otaku, I too believe that the human body is a temple and, hence, that we should communicate to the world anything about it or with it that we feel is pleasing to our own personal aesthetic. And, if that should entail surgical augmentation, well, then so be it! Just caaarefully weigh the pros and cons. That's all.
Just as an aside, I happen to be a Neo-Pagan. My Tradition is Elfin, F(a)eri(e), and UnderWorld. I have (at least) one god whose appearance is androgynous. I, too, am androgynous (no, I'm not gonna bore you all with yet another redundant PhotoBooth pic), but feel no need to enhance my appearance AS such with any kind of cosmetic surgery.
And just one nosy question, Otaku. How the f*ck are you going to secure the thousands of dollars FOR these subsequent surgeries? Sign your life over to Pony or another anime studio, who will then subsidize them all?!
Yours for change in a changing world,
Quenyan (+;-)}
That people whould do what they want to...
BUT STILL!!! I am deeply against plastic surgery, but even tough I agreed with it...
For the picture you posted, I think you are beautyfull... Just as you, I take beauty as a much feminine atribute, and I think androgene man are more atractive too.
But if you want my opinion, I think you are androgine just as it is, and you are pretty too. I think you should reconsider this idea, because it will bring side effects and may turn into something you're not expecting or you don't want.
Besides, with the amound of surgery you want to do, you will look like a doll, it will look too fake...
You're so young... please don't do it... I'ms ending you a mail so we can talk this better if you'd like...
OMG, you are:
1) young
2) handsome, --- yes, exactly as you ARE (as Mother Nature gifted you already)
3) good-looking
4) appear to be in very good health
5) handsome
6) young
7) good-looking
8) have a great head of hair!!!
9) VERY blessed with natural good looks
10) have both youth and good looks in your favor
Oh, --- am I repeating myself???
The only excuse for you to be even considering ANY of this surgery is if you are truly feeling disatisfied with your gender... Do you REALLY want to turn out looking like Michael Jackson?? Please please PLEASE look at pictures of Michael when he was younger... He was HANDSOME. He looked JUST FINE (in fact, FABULOUS) before surgery ever messed him up and turned him into looking like a monter. When you look next time into your mirror, please ask yourself, "What am I really so unhappy about?" And then remember one important thing: right now, besides looking like what the rest of the world WISHES we could all look like (young & handsome & with a great head of hair), you have only one minor physical flaw that I can see.... You still look very much like a HUMAN. And if you cave in to this urge to surgically alter all the so-called "flaws" that you think you see about yourself, you will lose the very thing that makes you so stunning to look at right now.
NO, you are NOT in any way, shape, or form, "ugly". In fact, the first time I ever layed eyes on your picture (in the old avatar), my first thought was this: "Damn, now that is one extremely handsome young man, --- sure wish I had his looks!!!!"
Even if you are trans-gender, and eventually want an operation to change THAT part of you.... You STILL are plenty blessed with physical beauty beyond most people's wildest hopes of ever being able to see in their own mirror. Please take a second look.
- Ken
If you said, "I want to be a girl," I'd say "Go for it!" But you're saying you don't want that.
I live in the Castro District, and there are a LOT of really ugly freaks wandering around here, people who messed with the stuff you just listed. Except among the small group that is other people like themselves, they are seen by everyone else as hideous for life.
Mother Nature has sculpted the human look with a very fine scalpel. Just about all of us are dropped onto this earth looking normal. Damned few people mess with her handiwork and emerge from it still looking normal.
We tell people on here all the time to not want the hair of somebody else, because celebrating your own hair will look better than dyeing, bleaching, curling, straightening yours to be different. It will never have the natural look of the hair of people who were born with that hair. This is going to be the same with your face.
You are an attractive dude, and a not-overly-masculine-looking one at that. To look so much like you want to look already is a blessing. I sure the hell wouldn't mess with it.
Nobody knows more about wanting to be yourself than longhairs, and you're getting a lot of "hold back man" comments from THIS crowd. Take it seriously man. If you turn yourself into a freak, you will have great difficulty making friends and finding work. This will be a problem for the rest of your life.
For now, I'd suggest celebrating your identity with hair styles and clothing choices. See if you can get close enough to your heart that way. No matter what you do with those, you will still not look like a freak with the sculpting intact that Mother Nature has given you.
Wishing you the best in finding yourself,
Bill
I had this friend I worked with years ago, she was hot, very hot but also very sweet, smart, funny, nodest, sounds too good to be true. Anyway as she was attractive she attracted hot guys and lots of them. But ended up marrying a slightly stocky plain looking guy. As she told me all that glitters is not gold it's whats on the inside that mattered to her. They are still married (11 years) and still very happy, and she's still hot.
If you want to change the shell go for it but you may find it wont make you happy. Peace and happiness come from within.
Good Luck
Kevin
What a great board this is. Otaku writes about wanting radical plastic surgery. Now, regardless of the fact that this is way off-topic, that he probably is no where near being able to afford it, and the fact that he probably is just "thinking out-loud", he gets pages and pages of solid, helpful, loving, kind, heartfelt advice. Bill's and Ken's advice in particular was excellent, awesome advice. Wisdom, really.
Some places they would tell Otaku that he's vain, selfish, and that he should be ashamed of himself for thinking he's ugly when there are people who would die to have his good looks. But not here.
Sunflower
Are you turning into a woman????
In fact why don't you just cut off your male thing(well p#%&s)
I think that you'll look just like angelina jolie...
Idiot!!!! Moron!!!! GET A BRAIN FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!
