seems to me your face is on another board and your know as Danny entitled when my dad comes home .. http://members5.boardhost.com/buzzboard/msg/1181793284.html
Axel
I know that it's just a board for people who like something different, and I'm very open-minded....
But that board really disgusts me. I thought they were through with garbage like this. If they ever post my picture...well.
I hope Mushroom Cult isn't too offended.
Peace

Weird that there's some sort of turf war going on between these two boards, kind of pathetic actually.
Turf war? Not unless it is defined as digging up part of someone's lawn, planting it in your barren yard and mowing it aggressively.
A haircut fetishist stole an image from here and used it as raw material in a mendacious post on a haircut fetish board to promote their agenda and discussion there.
That's not a turf war...a cowardly border raid maybe, but not a turf war.
Words have different meanings for a reason. We are aware of those guys over there, but we ignore them when they behave themselves. Unlike now, for instance. I don't think anyone could seriously look at it as a turf war. Some (many?) of them over there are haircut fetishists, and it is sadly quite common for fetishists of many kinds to steal pictures of other people for their web sites. There's rather more to this than just short hair v long hair.
I simply meant that there was a conflict going on, I didn't claim to know about the severity of it. And I never thought it had to do with simply short vs. long. I didn't think my word choice would become such a big deal.
I'm pretty sure you can threaten them with a law suite if they keep the picture. Or at least I hope so.
Somehow I doubt it's a copyrighted image, lol.
No but I mean it's a picture of you that they are using without your permission. I know it happens all over the net but usually it's celebrity pictures and they don't care anyway. Don't they have to (by law) remove it if you ask them to?
I doubt there's any precedence for actual legal action over such a thing. But it would be common courtesy to remove the image if asked. If they refuse I don't think any lawyer would seriously pursue suing them in an effort to force them to remove it or to make up for "damages."
Maybe a trainee lawyer or something.
But yeh, it's not going to happen, and I imagine if they have the image there in the first place, and looking through their comments, they don't seem to have common courtesy.
Copyright is automatic. The creator of the image owns the image and may determine how it is used and distributed. It is not necessary to watermark it or register it.
Of course, images and copies are transferred around the web all the time in violation of this, which doesn't make it right, just common.
Pretty much, if you have a presence on the web, someone has probably stolen your content and copied, used or altered it without credit and in fact probably claimed it as their own. But that doesn't mean you have to like it nor should it be considered a commonly acceptable thing to do.
With hair pictures, well, hair figures prominently in any number of fetishes, besides being a p0rn focus. Given the number of back shots I have on the web, I would bet money that there are wankers out there who would be shocked and dismayed to learn my sex. And presumably others who would not. Ditto on photoshopped haircut shots...or extra length shots.
Thats why some people do this:
read the posts from Osterwahl and millamopablo9, there are some reasonable voices being represented over there.
the rules "short hair , short mind" should works for them ahaha ^^
My hair journal
Well done 007. LOL It was interesting to see the behaviour on the other board obviously they don't have quality Moderators like we do.
At the end of the day you have to take it in stride it's the internet after all.
Kevin
I've noticed that the source URL is located here... could the image be replaced by one with appropriate humorous content and the exact same link?
Of course it could be. But it won't be. Why would we mess up one of our users' posts?
About once every six months or so, some of the newer users of MLHH and the Buzzboard discover each other and have a little spat like this. The guys who run both boards along with the old timers just cringe a bit and say, "Here we go again."
We aren't going away and they aren't going away. We like long hair and they like short hair. Neither group is going to convince the other to change, so engaging the other group is pointless.
Bill
It is really disgusting that they would go out of their way to do that
